I honestly think they were Ukrainians wanting to defect or simply run and were fired on by their own troops, but that's just my opinion. I personally know a Ukrainian pilot who apparently defected with his crew in an AN-26, I haven't heard from him, but it's what his very upset family is saying as he told his sister of his plans.

No, his solution to get NATO to back off is making it too costly for them to not do so. He tried being nice and saw it was ineffective so he went for plan B. If in the process he annexes a few parcels of land that's a bonus.

Dude, China is evil, it has not really changed since Tienanmen Square, it's trying to steal it's way to the world economic top, it tried to pseudo-colonize Africa, it needs to be opposed because it's like a ravenous dog that cannot stop eating.

It also is trying to annex all the ocean and Islands in what it is calling the South China Sea and will eventually set it's sights on Australia, Japan and all other Islands right after.
