Hitler was actually quite competent. The German general voices were taken as gospel and they were around and had to make themselves look good, ergo also no comment about Wehrmacht (not SS) atrocities, which occurred.

People have a right to defend themselves against an aggressor. I also think given this is the Ukraine, these people look old enough to have known the USSR and have seen the aftermath of Afghanistan or Chechnya they know what they're getting in to. Still to kill a cyclist or a 5 year old sleeping in his bed, are definitely war crimes.

They do but when you have forced conscription, weapons being handed out and the phrasing loaded for us, that points to a society using bodies as meat shields. One thing to ask for a weapon and get support/arms, other is very differant.
