Over the past five years, South Africa imported around 30% of its wheat from the Ukraine and Russia.

Now the conflict in Ukraine threatens to disrupt these exports, and fears of wheat shortages have pushed international prices to their highest levels since 2008. This is expected to bite South African consumers.
Expect the price of bread to increase

How about putting into legislation the "central goal" of becoming a NATO member when Russia highlighted the security threat. All they asked is the majority of thweir border remain neutral.

Imagine if members of the old Warsaw pact setup shop on US borders.

So no aggression, just paranoia. NATO is an allience of mostly wealthy states which would do everything to avoid sending their soldiers in harms way. The value of life over there, seems to be higher.

So how would a defensive organisation act against huge Russia which has the most nukes on the planet?

You think Belgian and Dutch soldiers will attack Moscow?

Do you or do you not acknowledge the offensive bombing in Yugoslavia from a "defensive" coalition ?

If Russia gets cut off from SWIFT, how will you get paid? Bitcoin?
Look at a map and who is allied with them right on their own borders... Switch to cash and transport your goods and finances through your friendly neighbour.

Russian foreign reserves sit at $643 billion while the US only has $129 billion. They can weather it for a good long while...

Which I recall was one of Trump's gripes with particularly Germany and France. They left the US to do all of the military leg work.

Germany's position on war is understandable though, they have had their fair share of destructive wars.

So tell me how do you envisage such bombing of the Russian Federation given that Russia could destroy Europe many times over with nukes.

Please tell me.

Given the record of Russia in Chechnya and NATO in Serbia/Kosovo, a rational objective person would prefer NATO over Russia. How many civilians did NATO kill in Kosovo/Serbia vs Russia in Chechnya?

So how many American soldiers do you think would be necessary to take Moscow? And no nuclear response?

That is exactly what I mean about cutting them off from SWIFT is going to provoke future war not aid in curbing it.

Now China has Russia money in chip development as the west has imposed tech sanctions. All this does is create a greater divide.

It was preventing a wider conflict in the Balkans. Russia started wars too, many more, with more civilian deaths.

Again it seems NATO has a better track record. But against Russia, who would be crazy to march on Russia? There are no roads. It's far. Russia has a hostile population, a huge army and NUKES.

So how many rich NATO boys and girls would be willing to die in a war of aggression against Russia?
How many governments would just send their kids to die?

Please be serious for 5 sec.

Do you acknowledge it or not?

You cant because its documented. So dont try and sideskirt the issue and pretend there is 100% no chance of a security threat from NATO. Which core mandate at inception was against Russia. Come on now.

Its like India having another Pakistan on their border. Same thing, just different names.

Ur being superficial.... shooting is something like 10% of war.

Most of war is cold not hot.... hot war is is what happens when the cold war goes badly for one side.

NATO has been at war with Russia for a long time now.... just not with shooting.

It will send a clear message and will harm the Russian economy. Russians can stop it by stopping the fighting and withdrawing.

China is also partially blocking Russia. I already told people here that China has no love for Russia. China will side with those who are prosperous and distant, namely the EU, and who don't threaten them. China will play all sides but will not assist the Russians too much. Chinese won't die or have love for big nosed people.

China is currently at war with murica and Russia is an ally.

They will end up standing together.

Confirmed: Live metrics show that Twitter has been restricted on multiple providers in #Russia as of 9:00 a.m. UTC; the incident comes as the government clashes with social media platforms over policy in relation to the #Ukraine conflict

A preventative war. With now Serbia able to do what it wants. But they broke the law and started doing some nasty things back there.

So defensive, yes, we don't want trouble in our region. Now Serbia is play along peacefully and they are prospering.

No NATO troops in Serbia.

You're arguing paranoid potential unlikely scenarios. Given the track record, the Russians are the aggressive ones and not Belgians, Czechs, etc. Seriously?

Russia is a huge country with poor infrastructure. It has a huge army. It has nukes. It would be suicide for anybody to attack them.

All you are afraid of is Russia not being able to bully its neighbours.

By the way, SERBIA is due to join EU in 2025.
Serbia is likely to join NATO.
