Not talking about Crimea here or do you think it was acceptable for a country to shell it's own citizens?
I can go round and round too.
Do you think it was acceptable for the minority government in Syria to bomb the bejeezus out of 75% of their country (most of that bombing done by Russia in assistance of Assad)?

See?

Does it actually matter though? Why must sides be picked? What is wrong with saying Ukraine maybe violently intimidated and murdered Russians in the separatist terrorizes as well as Russia might be over reacting?

Do you or do you not acknowledge the offensive bombing in Yugoslavia from a "defensive" coalition ?

Tell folks why NATO wanted peacekeepers in Yugoslavia.

Go on.

I dare you.

After that you can explain to the good folks reading this thread why you’re shilling for Putin *and* Milosevic.

Well I was talking about this conflict too. And you said

And the talks prior to conflict around Nato? Those accords pre date that, it was not a perceived concern or threat at the time, and there were discussions to alter that status quo before any conflict took place.
This does exclude the whole Civil War and separatist aspects though.

But then asks...

Not talking about Crimea here or do you think it was acceptable for a country to shell it's own citizens?

That not the civil war and separatist aspects you are referring to? From my perspective you're spinning like a top.

Same can be said of the Cuban missile crisis.

You forget the NATO offensive bombing of Yugoslavia. Any good statesmen should be expected to keep national security as a priority.
"Offensive"

Srebenicia would like a word.

Or what civil war and separatist aspects are you referring to? Some other instance in some other country? From my perspective you're spinning like a top.
The current two breakaway provinces that have been involved in a civil dispute for the last 8 years and underwent intense shelling prior and shortly after this started.

Let's keep in mind that while Ukraine is a sovereign state, the people used to be in a larger country. That means you have family, friends and relatives across newly drawn borders. This is not a simple country dispute, it has those issues, as well as civil war problems.

War is never clean, this one is certainly not as well.

I really think Russian propaganda efforts have gone to s**t when all they can manage to convince is basically Maduro, trumpanzees and Duduzile Zuma.

Sure. But then don’t say they are a defensive coalition when they have preemptive attacks when no member was threatened.

“Folks” here believe they are a defensive only coalition and Russia is being daft for not wanting nato on their border.

Odd, neh, Ukraine said they would be willing to talk. I don't trust the Russians, using their peacekeeping mandate as a precursor to launch a large-scale attack on Ukraine sovereignty showed their hand.
Ukraine moved the appointment place and date out to an undetermined state, meaning they called off the talks

why would you cease firing when that happens?
