The thing about NATO is that it's made up of willing partners. France quit at one stage. Any member can quit at any time. It's not like the Warsaw Pact which our Russian friends ran.

Well they stepped further than in. For a country on in the Security Council, a USSR benefit mind you, nothing Russia earned on her own, in the Council of Europe, in the OSCE, in various other bodies, it's sad that Russia genuinely couldn't present a proper criminal case. Instead they chose the "nuclear" option.
