Heard a report that Russian military was eating dog food. Another report that captured Russian soldiers were allowed to phone home where their families thought they were on exercises.
The part in bold can only hold true if the Russian news don't cover the invasion or whatever word they use for it.
That's the problem with the pointless banning of Russian news channels, as it would be easier to spot what is and isn't propaganda.

That looks pretty staged. The one guy even forgot/didn't know which brigade he was in and not a single service number was mentioned so verification is impossible. /opinion
Just look at all the stuff scattered around them on the bench etc. Looks staged.

So much obvious propaganda led me to look at why people believe obvious propaganda.

A popular narrative is that the failure to discern between true and false news is rooted in political motivations. For example, it has been argued that people are motivated consumers of (mis)information [16] – that they engage in 'identity-protective cognition' when faced with politically valenced content, and this leads them to be overly believing of content that is consistent with their partisan identity and overly skeptical of content that is inconsistent with their partisan identity [17]. A related theory argues that people place loyalty to their political identities above the truth – and thus fail to discern truth from falsehood in favor of simply believing ideologically concordant information [18]. These accounts contend that a strong causal influence of political motivation on belief is thus the dominant factor explaining why people fall for fake news.

In summary - We are screwed!

Well, you don't send your best tech in with the first wave. Most people on this forums is making the mistake of thinking Putin is stupid.

Nope we think he's an arrogant bully who throws his toys out the cot when he doesn't get his own way.

seems like old Bill's matra rings true... "it's the economy, stupid" --Just as old Reagan used economics to bring down the USSR... Putin forgot the little fact, you may have a big army...but if your economy can not keep up with its consumption --- you exposed....economic body blow after economic body blow coming from the EU....wonder how his populace is going to react to collapsing economy... "vaulting ambition" has a price, always..., especially if it comes from a unbalanced mind...

Question: “If you were in a similar situation as president, would you take up arms like Zelensky?” Trump: “Well, you never know about bravery …”

Trump's idea of bravery is to stand around in a Marque tent with his family and some political sycophants and listening to Gloria, with his idiot son talking big, and the lot of them revelling in a travesty.
Honestly one of the most cringeworthy things I've ever seen in my life.

I wouldn't say that is a reason why it could be staged. Russian, Ukr etc would have that sort of thing.

You can see images of Russian troops riding on tanks ala Kelly's Heroes style in previous wars. It's not as clean and organised as a Western military force. Ukrainians would inherit much of that.

The people doing the Ukrainian propaganda need more talent.
Honestly, Ukraine has been really good at propaganda so far.
The radio silence enforced by Russia (they apparently told all of their soldiers not to take their phones), is hurting them I feel.
Seems to be changing though and now we're getting more and more Russian-friendly videos now.

When one side of a civil war only includes 12% of the population that's what's going to happen. This isn't a wide ranging Civil War, it's a war being waged in two small provinces of a massive country.
If you look at the pre-war results the country used to flip back and forth much like conservative vs democrat in the US.
The circumstances of the last election in Ukraine are that only one side got to participate while the other side was completely suppressed.
Again I'm asking you do you seriously think the 2019 Ukrainian election was legitimate?

Vitali Klitschko, Kyiv’s mayor and former world heavyweight boxing champion, has described the Ukraine capital as “encircled” and said a civilian evacuation would not be possible “because all ways are blocked”.

“We are at the border of a humanitarian catastrophe,” he told Associated Press on Sunday as a curfew continued in the city which he said allowed authorities to hunt “saboteurs” on the streets. “Right now, we have electricity, right now we have water and heating in our houses. But the infrastructure is destroyed to deliver the food and medication.”

“That’s why the message for everyone is: support Ukraine together ... We are strong,” he said. “Every Ukrainian is proud to be independent, proud to be Ukrainian, and we are proud to have our own country.”

In the case Kyiv is now encircled, I would be under the impression that Ukraine state security would have evacuated Vladimir Zelensky to Western Ukraine by now. This is not about bravery, it is about state continuity.

I am afraid the only thing these SWIFT sanctions will do is speed up the development and use of alternatives. Both China and Russia have alternatives and will no doubt be used more often which will lead to incremental improvements.

If you want to spend the money you stole from Russian people on nice Western toys you'll now have to buy either Chinese or via Chinese middlemen.
