The last I read, and not going to post the details in particular, but a country backed by the US has determined that they would have a ~80% success rate at neutralising a nuclear ballistic strike. 80% is rather low considering the weapon and its potential destruction, not to mention that neutralising a nuclear weapon would also carry consequences, pending where it is being neutralised. Considering that Russia has nuclear warheads by the thousands, and would desire to use the weapons, they would commit to multiple strikes to negate any possible neutralisation.

A nuclear launch won't be pretty, it can be assured that there would be an immediate nuclear response by the targeted alliance. From what is publicly known, I don't believe Russia could respond as well to nukes as the NATO and some other UN countries can. It is likely that Russia will come second, and second still being last should such circumstances arise.

Russians are intelligent, they know it is a last resort.

Nothing counter global warming like a nice long nuclear winter ;)

Doesnt matter how you spin it if anyone "drop the bomb" we all gonna lose.

Well, if Putin launches nukes first, then I reckon it's safeties off for NATO as well then...

You mean, to retaliate with nukes as well?

I don't know about that.

Does the good guys look good anymore when they're nuking innocent Russian civilians in retaliation to Putin?

Somehow I don't see a nuclear retaliation as an option, being perfectly honest. Not sure though.

Russia hikes key rate to 20%, tells companies to sell FX

Eina, bliksem!!

FMrGakqXoAEtQh4

Russia's central bank can't do a goddamn thing to prop-up the Ruble other than instruct companies to sell off their FX.

Here's Ted Lieu...

SWIFT is blocked.

BP is offloading it's 20% stake in Rosneft, and Bernard Looney has resigned from the Rosneft board with immediate effect... Pressure will start mounting on Shell now too.

UPS and FedEx have suspended services to Russia...

Lines at banks and limits on withdrawals.

EU airspace is a no-go.

... and this is day five.

Thanks Daddy Vladdy.

Lots of beef between Chechens and Ukranians, not sure why Chechens were getting involved anyway but most of their army has already been cleaned up from what I heard.

They came with a fearsome reputation, as most Chechen fighters do.

It should be noted that Chechens have been involved in the breakaway areas since 2014, fighting on the side of Ukraine. Notably the Dzkokhar Dudayez Battalion and some of them may still be fighting on Ukraine's side.

The Kadyrov Chechens have been called traitors because of the historical animosity between Chechens and Moscow.

I knew you could do it. Proud of you!
Nice condescension there
So why then accuse others?
Since saying that Putin's "cleanse Ukraine of the Nazis" justification for the invasion is stupid, I got accused of supporting Nazis. Thus I respond to those accusations with the question of why these accusers are trying to defend Putin's justification so badly by hammering on Putin's dumb justifications even tho they aren't really true...? Also mocked some "dom vrae/antwoorde" from some people...

I think he is trying to say, in a very sarcastic way, that because Twitter is pointing out that this post goes against their TOS (which is arguably correct because it is glorifying extremists being violent against those they hate) means that Twitter does not really pick sides.
Nah... He distinctly said (possibly in an extremely sarcastic way): "Twitter picking sides again"
I'm terrible with sarcasm, but there's really not much room for ambiguity there.

But no harm, no foul. I was just wondering.

Not really nukes, no, but perhaps finally intervening in Ukraine via normal military means (sending in the army)?

being a part of the same empire for centuries the Ukrainians will know exactly what the Chechens fear most.

The Chechens may not fear death but the Ukrainians seems to know that they fear the pork chop.

Well this is what I fear, that Putin has advantage on this one either way. He comes across as crazy enough to go nuclear.

Other powers may however not retaliate with nukes, plus be under threat of being targeted as well should they get further involved even just with military. And Putin may play this card well.

I seriously hope I'm reading into it wrong, but it's just a thought.

I wish Zelensky would invite citizens of other countries to come and join them in making war against Russia. Offer them and their families citizenship for helping. Next plane out I would outright join and help...

Put your money where your mouth is then:

See ya..

I don't think anyone is gonna use nukes in the forseeable future.... the threat only exists to stop others from doing it.... any bomb dropping anywhere is a loose loose for everyone.

Hold on to your horses. Not so fast. No citizenship on offer for volunteers. Not worth my while. Their problem not mine. Enjoy the bombs.
