EDIT: Correction, some members like Germany host US nukes, but none of the Baltic states do

Yet...... but who's to say that don't happen tomorrow & then instead of a confined NW area for Russia to concern themselves with they would also in addition have that area by Ukraine to deal with.

All that had to happen was for example Germany & France to come up with some agreement with Russia that they would not agree to Ukraine becoming a NATO member & i don't think we would be where we are today but likely thru US pressure nothing like that happened as all of this current action is the US's wet dream.
