Please provide evidence of direct govt editorial control

That is easy in Britbongistan:

We have observed a significant increase in the number of programmes on the RT service that warrant investigation under our Broadcasting Code.

When dealing with major matters such as the crisis in the Ukraine, all Ofcom licensees must comply with the special impartiality requirements in our Code. These rules require broadcasters to take additional steps to preserve due impartiality – namely by including and giving due weight to a wide range of significant views.

These investigations – which relate to 15 editions of the hourly News programme broadcast on RT on 27 February 2022 between 05:00 and 19:00 inclusive – will be expedited, given the severity and urgency of the current crisis. We expect full cooperation from RT.

The licences for the RT service are held by ANO TV Novosti.

Ofcom’s Chief Executive Dame Melanie Dawes comments on today’s announcement:

If you don't say what the government says is correct, you get censored.

Why are you being so emotional. No one said talks are not the best option, rather that there is a suspicion that the talks will fail..

I don't think anyone is joking about loss of life - other sub-topics, maybe, but certainly not about dead men, women and children..
People are suffering in the hundreds of thousands, thousands of people are literally dying and yet we continue to insist that there are no options except for war. This was never about me, it is a crime against all of humanity.

Apparently so if people like you just soak up the fake news that suits their narrative.
The mainstream houses had 2 fantastic years to fsck up their own reputations. I'm not the cause.

Well Turkey just either broke the Montreaux convention or is enforcing an obscure bylaw.

The Convention consists of 29 Articles, four annexes and one protocol. Articles 2–7 consider the passage of merchant ships. Articles 8–22 consider the passage of war vessels. The key principle of freedom of passage and navigation is stated in articles 1 and 2. Article 1 provides, "The High Contracting Parties recognise and affirm the principle of freedom of passage and navigation by sea in the Straits". Article 2 states, "In time of peace, merchant vessels shall enjoy complete freedom of passage and navigation in the Straits, by day and by night, under any flag with any kind of cargo".

The International Straits Commission was abolished, which allowed the full resumption of Turkish military control over the Straits and the refortification of the Dardanelles. Turkey was authorised to close the Straits to all foreign warships during a war or when it was threatened by aggression. Also, Turkey was authorised to refuse transit from merchant ships belonging to countries at war with it.

A number of highly-specific restrictions were imposed on what type of warships are allowed passage. Non-Black Sea powers wishing to send a vessel must notify Turkey 15 days prior of their sought passing, and Black Sea states must notify within 8 days of passage. Also, no more than nine foreign warships, with a total aggregate tonnage of 15,000 tons, may pass at any one time. Furthermore, no single ship heavier than 10,000 tonnes can pass. An aggregate tonnage of all non-Black Sea warships in the Black Sea must be no more than 45,000 tons, with no one nation exceeding 30,000 tons at any given time, and they are permitted to stay in the Black Sea for 21 days. Only Black Sea states may transit capital ships of any tonnage, escorted by no more than two destroyers.[18][19][full citation needed]

Under Article 12, Black Sea states are also allowed to send submarines through the Straits with prior notice as long as the vessels have been constructed, purchased or sent for repair outside the Black Sea. The less restrictive rules applicable to Black Sea states were agreed as effectively a concession to the Soviet Union, the only Black Sea state other than Turkey with any significant number of capital ships or submarines.[17][20] The passage of civil aircraft between the Mediterranean and the Black Seas is permitted only along routes authorised by the Turkish government.[21]

If you don't say what the government says is correct, you get censored.

It's great being sceptical, but surely the word "impartiality" is the key word in the passage you seem to think points towards government control.

Or are you suggesting that RT is completely impartial and the independent regulator Ofcom who people report complaints to, are in fact targeting RT and should ignore the allegations?

Psst, konfab, you see this?

Help a brother out, pal, what does this mean?

Roskomnadzor informs the media, information resources that when preparing their materials and publications related to the special operation in connection with the situation in the Lugansk People's Republic and the Donetsk People's Republic, they are obliged to use information and data obtained by them only from official Russian sources.

Basic facts such as these seem to escape you

All these actions as well as the terrorising of the donbas population contributed to this invasion.

This isn't my idea of a "democracy".

They're not banning the language. Read their constitution. It's not even mandated that public coms be done only in Ukrainian it's mandated that it has to include Ukrainian since that is 70% of the nation. And article 53 states that national minority languages also be guaranteed.

Perhaps they do. But knowing they have inherent biases and are not editorial independent, why would anyone watch it?
Because when it comes to events outside the Middle East Al Jazeera English journalists are the most editorially independent.

So the way I understand is that they are blocking all military vessels from transitting unless its home ported in the black sea as per the rules for war time. This means Russia can not add any vessels to the armada already amassed in the black sea.

Hopefully they keep the nukes on ice.

ICBMs can reach a top speed around 10 minutes after launch which could see one fired from Russia reach the UK in just 20 minutes.

Defence expert General Sir Richard Barrons told Sky News: "President Putin has raised the stakes - he's started to insinuate nuclear weapons at a global level.

"This means the sort of equipment [like] an intercontinental ballistic missile - that means it reaches from Russia to the US and obviously into Europe.

"The warhead at the front of it has a yield of between 300 and 800 kilotonnes [of TNT equivalent].

"Three hundred kilotonnes is enough to destroy Washington or London or Paris.

I'll have to take your word for it, I can't imagine any impartiality towards any ally of Israel or any story involving Jews. I won't support their bigotry by adding a +1 to their viewing figures and increasing their advertising revenue.

That Fallout larp-session might not be too far away.
