Did it ever occur to you that majority of Ukrainians might prefer ties with the West, not Russia. And that they might've been very happy for Yanukovych being taken down in return of free trade agreement and visa free Europe?
I think that is true of Northern Ukraine, not sure about the South. Don't forget though that Yanukovych was an elected leader, the at majority of Ukrainians voted for him over his opponent. He was overthrown by the West. Personally I'm all for the US crusades to spread liberal democracy around the world except for the fact they've been largely unsuccessful and ended up creating more, never ending conflict wherever they meddle. If they could successfully transform countries into liberal democracies that would be ideal, but so far they haven't succeeded anywhere.
Zimbabwe has more freedom of press than Russia, and people here are criticizing MSM and defending dictator :-/
Who is defending a dictator?

Yup. And that's Russia's internet regulator telling folks that if they publish anything that hasn't been approved by Big Brother, they'll be getting a 5 million Ruble fine.
It's the same Russian government that first blocked Telegram, which made Telegram wildly popular at a time with some people, and then silently made an agreement with Telegram owners to allow them to monitor discussion around and allow dissemination of information on foreign elections and covid.

I think Nato is scared of Russia.

After Russia's performance against Ukraine, I don't think so. Russia's lack of performance might have played a small role in emboldening the west to increase sanctions and send equipment.

Hey, if pink tanks were actually doing that I would promote it too.... but the Ukrainians don't have an alphabet army as far as I am aware.

In my opinion, Russian soldiers are being lenient with Ukraine, they are not trying to kill everyone, they are just making their way to the capital with as little damage as possible.

They don't wanna do to Ukraine what Murica and Israel did to their targets..... they being sensitive because they know the double standard.

Probably.

Not a great long-term signal 'tho, though I'm not so sure Putin and his cronies are for the long term.

I think we're watching his end right now.

I would tend to agree as well, we're watching the start of his downfall... and it won't be in a slow whimper it seems.

They say 70 like that's a lot....
The jury is still out on Russian II-76 planes that Ukraine claimed shot down which will be around a 100 soldiers per aircraft. The main reason this is still not fake news is that the US DoD confirmed it in one of their briefings and that those airborne assaults never got reinforced.

Starting the fighting phase of a war is not a war crime.... what actual war crimes was there?

Intentional murder of civilians and children. Causing hundreds of thousands of refugees. Just to start.

International Criminal Court and Amnesty International are already investigating.

Of course, we need to go back to Syria, Chechnya, Georgia, etc, etc.

But, as I said, he will get off on the basis of diminished mental capacity.

Not sure that he Generals will get off though, I think that the Nuremberg trials firmly established that.
