Foreign membership in Azov battalion

According to The Daily Telegraph, the Azov Battalion's extremist politics and professional English social media pages have attracted foreign fighters,[31] including people from Brazil, Italy, the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Greece, Scandinavia,[6][31] Spain, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Russia.[6][63][64] About 50 Russian nationals are members of the Azov regiment.[65] The group has used Facebook to recruit far-right individuals from other countries within Europe.[66] In 2019, under Facebook's Dangerous Individuals and Organizations policy, support for the group was not allowed,[67] although this was temporarily relaxed during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine.[68]

Around 20 Croatians joined the Azov Battalion in January 2015, ranging in age from 20 to 45.[69][70] After Croatia's foreign minister Vesna Pusić confirmed that there are Croatian volunteers in Ukraine, the Russian Foreign Ministry called Croatia to withdraw its citizens from armed conflict. Pusić replied that Croatia opposes any involvement of Croatian citizens in the war, and stated that they went on their private initiative and that Croatia is working on bringing them home.[71] Interior minister Ranko Ostojić said that Croatian volunteers are fighting on the side of the legitimate Ukrainian government and are not committing any kind of crime according to Croatian law.[72]

Swedish Azov volunteers Mikael Skillt and "Mikola"
In late 2016, Brazilian investigators uncovered an alleged plot to recruit Brazilian far-right activists for the Azov Battalion.[73][74]

Members of the American neo-nazi terrorist group Atomwaffen Division have also joined the Azov Battalion.[75][76][77]

So... The single largest foreign component of the Azov battalion are Russian nationals. And many Russian Nazis have been very active in the DPR (separatist Donesk People's Republic ). On whose behalf Putin invaded Ukraine.

This invasion is about many things. But not The Minsk agreements.
Not missiles in Poland.
Not NATO.
Not the US.
And not about Nazis.

To be clear I would be extremely happy to see an end of Nazism, but it is NOT what this invasion is about. These are all just smoke and mirrors.

a lot of idiots went to fight for them, that NZL mosque shooter also had some links. The point is, who is giving them money?

let's assume we really care about ukraine, wouldn't we force them not to have these guys in their country? As a start?

Various links can describe pretty much any situation you like. I find it hard to believe a Jewish president will tolerate nazis in his government though. I think you may well have kool aid poisoning...

One thing is certain in my mind.

Russia should not at this time be a member of the UN security council.
The invasion of a fellow UN member state is already stretching it's credibility as far as UN global security is concerned.
The moves to put nukes in Belarus absolutely shatters it.

Whatever else. I hope the ICC investigation and eventual ruling can achieve this.
that would mean France and the US should also be removed as they constantly attack independent states.

That's how we get to where we are today as no one wishes to listen

MOSCOW, March 1. /TASS/. Moscow believes that obtaining legally binding security guarantees from NATO members is of paramount importance, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in a video address to the Disarmament Conference.
"[Our] Western colleagues have not yet shown any willingness to provide Russia with long-term legally binding security guarantees. <...> For us, achieving these objectives is of fundamental importance," Lavrov emphasized.
The minister stressed that the issue here is refusing NATO’s expansion any further, and abandoning the "Bucharest formula" (2008 Bucharest Summit - TASS) that sees Ukraine and Georgia becoming members of the US-led military bloc. "Western countries should refrain from establishing military facilities on the territory of former USSR states that are not members of the alliance, including the use of their infrastructure for conducting any military activity. It is necessary to return NATO’s military capabilities, including strike [capabilities], and NATO infrastructure to the state of 1997, when the NATO-Russia Founding Act was adopted," Lavrov concluded.
