China was first technically, they didn't jump on the recognition bandwagon, but outright stated the current situation is the fault of Ukraine's refusal to implement Minsk accords

effectively telling the west: "China stands with Russia on this one"
True, and am guessing China will have Russian support if the Taiwan thing ever comes to a head.

Definitions matter. Being capitalistic does not mean you are a capitalist just like democratic does not mean you are a democrat.

Real capitalism does not have the level of state interference that socialist countries do. You don't get capitalist countries as far as I can tell, just capitalist zones.
Fair point, this said, a capitalistic point of view would mean that you are subscribing to as least some of the ideas of capitalism which make you, at least in part, a capitalist.

I do agree though, I don't think that there is such a thing as real capitalism, or communism for that matter. These days, all we are left with is the bits and pieces that fit (or dare I say it, work out best for those who are involved).
War is what happens when the aggressor does not get what he wants, peace is when the victim stops resisting.
War is the result of enemies going at it, enemies are derived from hate. I don't believe that people are born with hate, hate is something that people are taught whilst growing up. We are all victims.

they did:

Read my post next time,

When China and Russia announced their great economic partnership, China didn’t weigh in on Ukraine, publicly.

which was announced some time ago, the so-called, "no limits" strategic relationship, and China has since criticized the US and NATO on their stances against Russia.

This analyst has it right,

“China faces quite a pickle in this situation,” said Amanda Hsiao, senior China analyst at the International Crisis Group, noting Beijing’s efforts to maintain solidarity with Russia without further antagonizing the United States and Europe.

“Beijing will not condemn Russia’s moves nor recognize Donetsk and Luhansk’s independence, but it will also likely provide moral support — and perhaps a degree of financial support in the event of Western sanctions,” she said.

In essence, the Chinese aren't recognising the Russians declaration, but neither condemns the declaration. Though I don't have the transcript, the media did quote,

Speaking at an emergency U.N. meeting Monday night, Zhang Jun, China’s representative to the United Nations, urged all parties to “seek reasonable solutions” and address each country’s concerns based on “equality and mutual respect.” China’s Foreign Ministry said Tuesday that it was in communication with all “relevant parties.”

which isn't quoted by RT because it doesn't serve the message being conveyed.

Germany halts Nord Stream 2 approval

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said Tuesday that Germany has taken steps to halt the process of certifying the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline from Russia.

He told reporters in Berlin that his government was taking the measure in response to Russia's actions in Ukraine.

Europe gets American gas now, good job Russia.

My guess, none of the sanctions will hurt Russia that hard - if that were the case they would never have signed the recognition. When no cheese, make more dairies and so lifes goes on.

Germany has halted the approval of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline in response to Russia's actions in Ukraine.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz said the country has ordered the withdrawal of a key document needed for certification of the pipeline from Russia.

It comes after Russian President Vladimir Putin sent troops into eastern Ukraine.

The pipeline bringing natural gas from Russia to Germany has long been criticised by the United States and some European countries who argue that it increases Europe's reliance on Russian energy supplies.

Mr Scholz said his government had decided to "reassess" the certification of the pipeline, which hasn't begun operating yet, in light of the latest developments.
