My guess, none of the sanctions will hurt Russia that hard - if that were the case they would never have signed the recognition. When no cheese, make more dairies and so lifes goes on.

Sanctions don't have to hurt Russia, they have to hurt the oligarchs.

Really hurt.

Seize their properties and assets, their yachts, their jets, freeze their bank accounts, deport them and hit them with travel bans... Hell, kick their kids out of the private schools and universities they have them in, rather than Russian schools.

Do that, and a coup in Moscow follows.

Added bonus, low cost and no risk to the kids that usually end up fighting these BS wars.

War is the result of enemies going at it, enemies are derived from hate. I don't believe that people are born with hate, hate is something that people are taught whilst growing up. We are all victims.

Sometimes people just do things because they can. You don't need to hate someone to kill him.... he just needs to either have something you want or to be irritating in some way.

Hate implies you care enough about someone to bother to actively hate.... banal indifference is more often than not the cause of evil than hate. I think everyone focuses so much on projected hate out of fear and envy.... and as a way to make themselves feel better than insignificant in the face of a giant.

So far just the pro-Russian Ukrainian East, but the Ukrainian soldiers were allegedly killed by pro-Russian rebels. If this is true and not missing context then the pro-Russia rebels and ultimately Russia will go down as to have started the war.

Guess our definitions of aggression are different. US in this case is more aggressive sending arms to Ukraine. Come on now, take a step back at the big picture.

Russia did drills in Belarus and NATO in Poland.
Russia is the aggressor in this situation, as they started to mass troops and military equipment near the borders of Ukraine, even setting up camps in Belarus near the Ukrainian border. Of course NATO is going to respond to that.

Nord Stream 2 is not operational yet so the impact might not be that big. But I am interested in how Russia is going to respond, as the EU receives around 30 - 35% of their gas from Russia and I am not sure how much gas the EU has stored as a reserve.
