I do not blame Putin at all for doing what he is doing. He is a communist and Russia is just doing what it always wanted to do. The only thing is, there were strong Western leaders throughout the years that stopped Russia. Those leaders are gone today and Russia is now seizing the moment. It was always going to get to this point, it was only a matter of time. China will follow too. I expect a lot more in coming years.

This is nothing else but human nature playing out.

I find it interesting that people say things like this about NATO eastward expansion...

It's weird how all those new countries willingly joined a defensive alliance with all the obligations that entails if they didn't feel threatened...

Well, he simply declared a portion of Eastern Ukraine as independent and sent in his soldiers. Did not face any resistance or much trouble from the world. So, pretty much, the invasion started and seems he will be able to take any country in the world without facing any kind of warfare.

Yeah, countries like Estonia, Lithuania and Poland crapped themselves every time that Putin took his shirt off and jumped on a bear / horse.

Do you blame them ?

This times a million. It actually boggles the mind.

The only difference is that it is white people. Monumentally pathetic. Russia on paper is in every way exactly what "Conservatives" say they are against:
  • Authoritarian
  • Corrupt government
  • Rigged elections
  • Heavy heavy heavy state intervention in the economy
  • Warmongering
  • Constant foreign meddling in the affairs of other countries
  • Fake news coming from state controlled media
