The 6 senior Trump 2016 campaign figures to face federal charges

Former Trump administration chief strategist Steve Bannon's fraud arrest on Thursday made him the sixth senior 2016 Trump campaign figure to be hit with federal charges.
The state of play: While Bannon was allegedly involved in a scheme to defraud donors to a private border wall construction project, the other five former Trump campaign officials found themselves wrapped up in the Mueller investigation.
Steve Bannon
  • Bannon, along with three others, allegedly defrauded donors out of hundreds of thousands of dollars with a crowdfunding campaign called "We Build the Wall."
  • Federal prosecutors say Bannon, via a non-profit, took in over $1 million from the scheme "and at least some of it was used to cover hundreds of thousands of dollars in [his] personal expenses."
Roger Stone
  • The former Trump campaign adviser was sentenced to 40 months in prison for crimes including obstruction, witness tampering and making false statements to Congress.
  • He lied to Congress about his efforts to learn more about when WikiLeaks would publish damaging emails about Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election.
  • President Trump later commuted his sentence.
Michael Flynn
Paul Manafort
Rick Gates
Michael Cohen
  • The president's former personal lawyer and fixer, who describes himself as "one of Trump’s bad guys" in his forthcoming book, pleaded guilty to to lying to Congress on the president's behalf and is carrying out a three-year prison sentence in home confinement.
  • Cohen admitted he lied to the Senate Intelligence Committee in 2017 about the length and scope of his work on plans to build a Trump Tower in Moscow.
Don't forget: Though he was not a senior campaign member, former Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos also pleaded guilty in 2017 to making false statements to the FBI about his contacts with Russians.

John Kasich and Joe Biden know that restoring our nation means putting partisanship aside.

The Orange Dotard repeated this again today.

Trump vs. Supreme Court: President Complains Justices Don't 'Like Me,' Calls Them Threat To Rights
KEY POINTS
  • Trump criticized recent decisions by the high court as "horrible" and "political"
  • He said Thursday's DACA ruling is just the latest in a string of decisions that have gone against his administration, pointing up the need for "new justices"
  • Liberal Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg is the oldest member of the court at 87
President Trump lashed out at the Supreme Court Thursday, accusing the justices of taking partisan political positions in recent cases and warning the court poses a threat to religious liberty and the second amendment.

Trump’s tweetstorm followed the court’s decision rejecting administration efforts to end the Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals program, which protects as many as 800,000 so-called Dreamers from deportation. The decision did not address the legality or merits of the DACA program. Rather, it said the Department of Homeland Security failed to follow federal law in its effort to end it. The decision invited the court to try again.

“The recent Supreme Court decisions, not only on DACA, Sanctuary Cities, Census, and others, tell you only one thing, we need NEW JUSTICES of the Supreme Court. If the Radical Left Democrats assume power, your Second Amendment, Right to Life, Secure Borders, and Religious Liberty, among many other things, are OVER and GONE!” Trump tweeted.

Trump said Thursday’s decision granted presidents “far more power” than ever was anticipated. He called on Congress to act on immigration reform.

Trump took the recent decisions personally, saying the court “doesn’t like me.” He called the decisions “horrible” and “politically charged,” and likened them to “shotgun blasts into the face of people that are proud to call themselves Republicans or Conservatives.”

Trump has appointed two justices since taking office, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh. Both dissented from the majority opinion written by Chief Justice John Roberts, who sided with the court’s four liberal justices.

Trump said he would release a new list of possible court nominees.

Didn't that already happen?
Yip loads of zombies mindlessly defending Trump, when it is his campaign that was found to have worked with the Russians.

2 of his campaign managers have been arrested. His lawyer. His associates.

He mishandled the coronavirus pandemic.

He screwed the farmers over.

Question

Do the "Trump Supporters" (considering we're mostly in SA and can't actually support him) actually like him or is it more a case of annoying/sticking it to "the left"? You know, the same way girls with parental issues date the guy their parents hate just to piss them off.

It is simple.

1. Confederate flag supporters
2. Apartheid flag supporters
3. White Christians of the the 6000 year old earth + flat earth kind

Didn't know Bannon was so filthy rich...the allegation (if true) makes it even more deplorable than it is already.

The contention of the Manhattan prosecutors is that Bannon, who is said to be worth tens of millions, pilfered about $1 million through a private group called We Build the Wall.

Note that Trump didn't actually support this effort:

Trump distanced himself this morning, saying he hasn’t been dealing with Bannon ‘at all’ and that ‘I don’t like that project. I thought it was being done for showboating reasons.’ Back in 2017, Trump criticized the group’s private effort to build the wall, saying it was ‘only done to make me look bad’. That could well be the case now: while this development may not represent a dire threat to President Trump, it is more than an embarrassment

Bannon is smart. He was the brains behind Trump's campaign. He saw a need in US politics for the type of politician he could get Trump to be.

He knows the kind of people who voted for Trump. He spent years convincing people to ignore the facts, trust only what Trump tells you.

He just used that to play the ordinary folk. Played to their bias. Used Trump Jr to boost and promote the scheme (Jr being more naive that Donnie). People fell for this hook line and sinker, because Bannon and his crew knew they would.

They fell for the myth of the competent president, this was an easier sell.
