‘It was great’: In leaked audio, Trump hailed low Black turnout in 2016

The president acknowledged in a 2017 meeting with civil rights leaders that he benefited from Black voters staying home.

In a private meeting inside Trump Tower days before his inauguration, Donald Trump told a group of civil rights leaders something most Republicans wouldn’t dare publicly acknowledge: lower turnout among Black voters did, in fact, benefit him in the 2016 presidential election.

"Many Blacks didn’t go out to vote for Hillary ‘cause they liked me. That was almost as good as getting the vote, you know, and it was great,” the president-elect said, according to an audio recording of the meeting shared with POLITICO.

Trump Fails Judge’s Test To Provide Evidence Of Mail Vote Fraud

By Carissa House-Dunphy - August 21, 2020

Donald Trump has spoken often about his fears for the upcoming 2020 election, pointing mostly to mail-in voting as a potential way for Democrats to commit fraud and steal the election from him. He’s even taken his fears to court in Pennsylvania in an attempt to suppress the vote, but came up short when asked to provide discovery materials.

Two of the groups fighting Trump’s lawsuit, Citizens for Pennsylvania’s Future and the Sierra Club, asked the judge to demand that the Trump campaign’s legal team provide evidence of widespread mail-in ballot fraud to avoid having their case thrown out in court. It didn’t go well for them.

The Intercept reports that:

‘President Donald Trump’s campaign, ordered by a federal court judge in Pennsylvania to back up its claims of fraud in the state’s vote-by-mail system, has documented only a handful of cases of election fraud in recent years — none of which involved mail-in ballots. The revelation, which came in the form of a partially redacted 524-page document produced by the Trump campaign last week, undermines the claim by Trump team operatives that mail-in ballot fraud is a grave risk to Pennsylvania voters.’

The truth is that mail-in voting has been an option in most states for many years and our system of voting has been in place since voting began. There is no evidence of widespread voter fraud and the Trump campaign team knows it.

Melania Trump Won’t Be Do Any Campaigning for Her Husband and His Campaign is Reportedly ‘Frustrated’

Screen Shot 2020-08-22 at 5.59.54 AM.jpg

No one tells Melania Trump what to do and CNN is out with another story confirming it.

Melania gets relatively little media attention, all things considered. We do report on her extensively. After all, Melania believed she had a right to waste millions in taxpayer dollars and snarl Midtown Manhattan traffic, all to hold-out in New York after Trump’s inauguration to improve her bargaining position as she negotiated a new pre-nup. Think of the breathless cynicism and self-centeredness required to pull that off. It is more than fair to cover her and her sense of entitlement.

Apparently, Melania even frustrates the people on the Trump campaign, whom CNN reports want Melania out doing the First Lady “barnstorming” thing after the Republican convention. Melania said “nyet.” She won’t be out traveling the country after the convention.

She will do stuff for the convention with the big television audience, but she won’t be doing any traveling and smiling at people afterward: “Her disdain for barnstorming is something that has frustrated staff on the President’s reelection team, says one person who worked closely with the Trumps in 2016,” as reported by Rawstory and CNN.

that's the interesting bit.

i cant help but wonder if democrats would dare publicly acknowledge lower voter turnout among black voters negatively impacted clinton in the 2016 presidential election.

There is a chance it might be lowish this year as well as the Black Lives Matter leaders (who seem to be stuck in a permanent state of adolescence with their frankly childish demands) were not satisfied with him. I'd love these clowns to go to the American Midwest and preach about defunding the police. Far less tolerance of BS like this in such states compared to the coastal states.

However this must be balanced by the fact that minority communities don't really support abolishing the police.

Steve Bannon's indictment and arrest should worry Trump and his associates
Bannon can control how history remembers him with the choices he makes now.

The arrest of Steve Bannon on fraud charges should alarm a number of people close to Donald Trump, including the president himself.

Bannon was arrested Thursday on charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering along with three other men in what authorities said was a scheme to defraud donors funding Trump's proposed wall on the border with Mexico. Each of the two counts in the indictment carries a maximum sentence of 20 years. While sentencing guidelines would likely yield a lower sentence than that, a conviction based on the total amount of $25 million alleged to have been raised by the conspiracy could realistically lead prosecutors to ask for 11 to 14 years.

Most defense lawyers confronting such a serious situation will ask their clients whether they have any information they can trade in exchange for leniency. Defendants who can provide concrete assistance in the investigations of others can reduce their sentences substantially, although a defendant generally must also admit to his own crimes and plead guilty.

Other people whom Bannon's cooperation could implicate include Donald Trump Jr. and Jared Kushner, who also were the subjects of criminal referrals by the Senate Intelligence Committee in 2019.

The remarks collected in that graphic were indeed all uttered by the persons to whom they have been attributed; below we offer four of the statements on video (also on YouTube), as well as the context in which they were made, and any clarifying remarks subsequently offered by their speakers.

So much in common with Zupta.

Well, let's park this here to answer some assertions about the Holy Covenant of the Perpetually Innocent Dems:

All you are parking is examples of the incessant and never followed up insinuations and accusations that "not-Trump-supporters" feel it is ok to fling around. And you lap it up. Well done.

Rose McGowan, posting a screenshot, of some text. You cracked it all wide open Sherlock.

Consistent with belief system. I believe a guy was resurrected. I believe he walked on water. I believe he turned water to wine. Hence she believes JB is rapist.

Yep. I'm in that category. That is the only part you got right proving my point. Many thanks! . You just stepped right into it.

... and that's why I'm definitely also a "Not-Dem Supporter".

Have fun in the echo chamber trying to figure it out. Watch out for the matches and don't walk in the house with those shoes.
