My dad went to university in England back in the late 80s when we were kids, got a full grant and supported the family and managed to get a compsci degree that now means he earns ridiculous money. FF to today and he thinks free tertiary education is socialism. Smh

In those days university was 100% free in the UK. It’s still quite reasonable; I graduated without much debt. There’s no way he would have been able to do anything like that in the US
