Yes, rietie, some "spoil brat" got infected with a potentially deadly disease because her own mother denied testing positive and didn't admit this to her family.

People determine their own level of risk tolerance. I would wager that someone who is willing to jump in the way of a mostly peaceful bullet by a tolerant leftist would also be willing to sit in a car with someone who has a mild case of a disease with a 99.6% recovery rate.

The "compassion" I am seeing from people like you is stripping agency from secret service agents.

They are the sort of people who put themselves in harm's way, that is who they are. Any normal person who is in a position where people are expected to put their lives on the line for his own safety would not expose them to extra unnecessary risk just so he could wave at people.

Now if you really want the question, it is why the US taxpayer should be forced pay for the security of its politicians such that they can be reckless. But that won't happen because statists think that people don't really deserve all their money.

There is an expression in the US air force, "never refuse a combat assignment", the gist is that danger is part of the game and combat experience is the way to advancement up the ranks. Am sure it's very similar in the secret service, they would never refuse to protect the president regardless of what poor decisions he makes. It's Trump who is being a d***head by abusing their sense of duty and putting them at risk when there is no need for it...
