At least 2 SCOTUS justices are keen to overturn marriage equality, too. With both Kennedy and Ginsburg gone, and another zealot installed - not that unlikely if a serious challenge is pushed up.

I don't think they will overturn it. And if you read what they wrote, it isn't want they are going to overturn.

That ruling allowed ridiculous notions that you should be forced to bake a cake for someone.
The marriage official thing is also stupid as it is pretty much a scheduling issue.

They would be able to fix it quite easily by doing the following.
1) Rule that your marriage equality doesn't overrule the right to private property and freedom of speech.
2) Allow public marriage officials to recuse themselves from doing a marriage provided they organise someone else to do it.

That would align the ruling to protecting individual rights very well. People can still get married, they just don't have the right to force someone else to accept it.

How does marriage equality affect freedom of speech? You can speak against it
As for private property, I presume you mean right to refuse service?

They can already ask their colleague to step in.
However, this should not inconvenience the member of the public nor should it embarrass them.
If they can't achieve this, they must do it or not work where there are marriages.

But that wasn't the dispute. Some wanted the ability to prohibit their staff from handling a marriage.
This is a problem in small towns etc. where the number of public officials is smaller.

Anti retrovirals and chemo and so on ARE toxic and can kill even perfectly healthy people though.....
