He appears to be the (allegedly) source of information, via a blog called "liberalsarenuts.com". Also, it was himself involved in the court case?
Well, if he himself is involved in the court case, which Burisma lost, then that would by some measure endorse the veracity of what he's saying, wouldn't it?

Also, checking on wikipedia:

On October 9, 2019, Derkach alleged that Joe Biden had been involved in an international money laundering scheme with Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings and US-based Rosemont Seneca Partners.[16] He claimed that Burisma's payments to four of its board members–including Biden's son Hunter–which were neither secret nor illegal, were "a sinister plot involving" Ukraine's former president Poroshenko but his claims initially were mostly ignored in Ukraine and abroad.[17] Anders Åslund, senior fellow at the Atlantic Council, called Derkach "not credible" and a "professional disinformer."[18]

It should be noted that Rosemont Seneca Partners was raided by the FBI in August.

It is curious why something so salaciously newsworthy as this is being suppressed when the media industry is desperate for revenue...

Am I correct in understanding, then, that you were comfortable accepting a random Tweet with no sources to be true?

Veracity - sure - if A) if there is reporting on the court case, other than FB, and B) he's telling the truth. I can't say either way, as I know very little about this.

The remainder and heading of the Wikipedia paragraph may be useful for further context:

Interference in United States 2020 elections

...

On December 5, 2019, Derkach met with President Donald Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani in Kyiv to put together a corruption case against Biden's son Hunter, according to Derkach.[19][20] In May 2020, he released a portion of a phone call between Joe Biden and Petro Poroshenko, the former president of the Ukraine.[21]

On September 10, 2020, the U.S. Treasury Department sanctioned Derkach "for attempting to influence the U.S. electoral process," while also alleging that Derkach "has been an active Russian agent for over a decade, maintaining close connections with the Russian Intelligence Services." [22][23] The sanctions include freezing all of Derkach's property interests subject to U.S. jurisdiction and prohibiting U.S. persons from engaging in transactions with him and with entities of which Derkach owns 50 percent or more.[24]

Also, if this is a thing, why on earth are Trump's people not screaming about it? Would seem to be in their best interests, and they have the might of the intelligence services, etc, to do that, surely?

As for it being salacious - I hear you, but there seems very little reason to take it seriously at this point, unless journalism nowadays is based on what gets said on social media.

In this case, given my general awareness of the allegations surrounding Burisma, absolutely.

Veracity - sure - if A) if there is reporting on the court case, other than FB, and B) he's telling the truth. I can't say either way, as I know very little about this.

Yes, I don't really care for Wikipedia's political biases. I invite you to consider what Larry Sanger has to say about Wikipedia's neutrality.

Largely because the media narrative has been poisoned with claims of Trump being a power-mad dictator and these sorts of claims are used as an excuse to paint Trump as the next Mussolini or Hitler.

If you are actually interested in this question, I suggest you pay closer attention to the witnesses who testified in Trump's impeachment hearing. I remind you that technically the justification for the impeachment hearing was that Trump had the temerity to ask a foreign leader to look into something troublesome...

Probably because Trump got impeached over this nothingburger, due to his extorting the president of Ukrine to push the corruption narrative and withholding military aid. The impeachment might have been voted down by the Senate but it shut up the Trump camp about Burisma. Now these limp half-hearted allegations are the best they can muster.

Well, I just had a little chat with the devil, on account of I know him so intimately. He said that the entertainment is to last an eternity...
So, on what terms will you take this bet?

I'm willing to go with "not completely insane" from your side, slightly different to our last bet.
