Bwahahaha you lot actually think you represent everything reasonable, decent and normal  You are so blind.

Nope, you have a comprehension problem, try reading it again.

It's in the very article you quoted.... :whistling:

I don't see anywhere it states they want to ban air travel. Could you highlight that bit?

Quick question, who the heck is going to pay for all those cars to be replaced? Would you be happy if they done that in SA and you were forced to buy an expensive electric car?

LOL 200 million people are going to have the money to switch to electric (which are much more expensive that petrol cars) given the state the economy is in.

You'll be out of luck then and have to get a bicycle or something like a Datsun Go built in India, most European countries and China already have a plan to outlaw petrol/diesel cars by the 2030's. You don't think the big makers are going to care about small markets like SA when China and most of the western world has banned them?

How will they ever be able to build high-speed rail to the point at which air travel is no longer necessary? It's fantasy land stuff. The usual socialist utopia they try to sell that is never achieved and only creates economic chaos.

What are you talking about? You didn't answer my question on how the US will get 200 million Americans to buy electric cars? How will they afford it when many don't have savings and are in huge debt.

Get a bicycle, that is your ridiculous answer. I think you are in the wrong forum, this one is for adults, take the children's solutions elsewhere the adults are talking.

One sunny day in January 2021 an old man approached the White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue, where he'd been sitting on a park bench. He spoke to the U.S. Marine standing guard and said, "I would like to go in and meet with President Trump." The Marine looked at the man and said, "Sir, Mr. Trump is no longer President and no longer resides here." The old man said, "Okay", and walked away.

The following day, the same man approached the White House and said to the same Marine, "I would like to go in and meet with President Trump." The Marine repeated, "Sir, as I told you yesterday, Mr. Trump is no longer President and no longer resides here."
The man thanked him and, again, just walked away. The third day, the old man approached the White House and spoke to the very same U.S. Marine, saying again, "I would like to go in and meet with President Trump." The Marine, understandably irritated at this point, looked at the man and said, "Sir, this is the third day in a row you've been here asking to speak to Trump. I've told you each time that he's no longer the President and no longer resides here. Don't you get it?" The old man looked at the Marine and said, "Oh, I understand. I just love hearing it."
The Marine snapped to attention and said, "See you tomorrow, Sir."

And all the while the country desends into a socilaist welfare state with millions more on food stamps as more and more jobs go to China.

But hey that doesn't matter! Donald Trump isn't president, so all is well.

Adults who presumably missed grammar classes at school?

I wonder which "adult" has had the most posts deleted for childish behaviour in this thread. I wonder.

Way to go avoiding the actual topic man, you totally passed 101 troll forum behaviour.

So let me see if I'm getting this.

Being pro-survival, pro-humanity, pro-science and pro-progress are all evil and stoopid?

Does this about sum it up?

Chucklefarks and their delusional addiction to "tradition" are what induced climate change. Now these same chucklefarks will fight tooth and nail to block any attempt to mitigate further damage because "scared", "feelings" and "reasons"

Certain segments of humanity truly are dumber than a shiat-covered stick.

That's right pup, destroy the world economy by removing/outlawing petrol cars by 2030, that totally won't lead to poverty, starvation and societal collapse. But hey you push that electric utopia at all costs and see where it gets you.

Come now, numnuts, try understand what you quoted.

build out high-speed rail at a scale where air travel stops becoming necessary

Today you get people flying from/to places that could be connected by high speed rail, in USA examples would be like Washington DC - New York or LA - San Francisco - San Diego. What is being said that when/if a high speed line connects those places there would be no need for air links between them.

It's surely not that difficult for an "adult" like you to understand, is it?

So by the year 2090 then, ah all makes sense now.

Will give them time to build all those numerous power plants that are going to be needed to run all those millions of electric cars. You do realise what a monumental task that will be and just how much electricity will be required. But hey if 2090 is the deadline I think it's achievable.

destroy the world economy
Wait. You believe petroleum-consuming vehicles underpin the world economy?

...and somehow you feel you're qualified to be informing randoms on the internets about how stoopid, destructive and evil "them liberul" policies are? Really?

Try this one on for size. When climate change impinges on the world economy, supply chains, livelihoods, food production - would *that* be enough for you to get an urgent grasp on reality?

I suspect the answer is: No.

I have no idea, probably not.
He has repeatedly claimed to be and that appears to be all the qualification required.

Unless you have a battery of stringent tests everyone needs to pass in order to earn the title?
