Insiders told the City Press that the meeting included members of the SSA and CIA, and the parties clashed over the lack of information the US was willing to provide about the possible event.
Translation: the SSA wanted to know how the CIA obtained the information (what intelligence gathering methods were used), obviously the CIA would not reveal its methods, neither would the SSA reveal its methods if the roles were reversed (although I'm sure the CIA already knows that the SSA employs sangomas to throw chicken bones everywhere after a KFC meal).
Following the US Embassy’s announcement, Sandton residents were left to speculate what the threat could entail — causing unnecessary panic.
“It was quite unfortunate that the US government issued that type of warning without having had a deep-dive type of discussion with us,” Ramaphosa said Thursday at a Pretoria briefing.
“It is unfortunate that another government should issue such a threat as to send panic among our people.”
What panic, was there a stampede that trampled people to death and has not been reported?
The fact that the USA's announcement was made days prior to the gay pride event actually prevented any panic that would otherwise have happened if the cANCer govenment had been allowed to procrastinate and make an announcement (likely after the start of the gay pride event).
The USA did not issue a threat, the USA made an announcment about a possible terror attack.
But did they should have waited for the SA Government to issue a statement first.
If any foreign embassy in the states had intelligence but issued a statement before the US, it would have caused a significant impact on international relations between those countries.
The cANCer government soundbites (since the USA's announcement) were about how cheesed off SA was that the USA made an announcement at all, and that SA had not heard anything yet (as in the SSA was clueless, caught with its pants down and its knickers in a twist).
The alleged terrorists would have had to change their plans since any element of surprise evaporated with the USA's announcement.
If the USA had not made an announcement, a terror attack would most likely have proceeded and succeeded even if the SSA had credible and verifiable information (not African Intelligence) confirming a planned terror attack, just look at what happened in July 2021 and how SAPS and the SSA didn't do anything to stop that choas.
