US Embassy raises alarm of 'possible terrorist attack' in Sandton

I wonder which pipeline will be blown up now

The US embassy has raised the alarm of a "possible terrorist attack" in the greater Sandton area in Johannesburg over the weekend.

In a security alert to US citizens in South Africa, it said, "terrorists may be planning to conduct an attack targeting large gatherings of people at an unspecified location" in Sandton on Saturday.

"There is no further information regarding the timing, method, or target of the potential attack," the alert read.

The embassy advised that individuals avoid crowds of people and other large public gatherings in that area on Saturday and Sunday.

AWB?

Wouldn't surprise me in the least if there are cells set up in SA already. Al qaeda/ al shabab has been camped on our doorstep for years.

Im keen to hear from the LGBT camp if they plan on cancelling or staying away.

If the so called terr's get caught they might find themselves in an uncomfortable position....literally.

I don't now the protocol, but is it usual for an embassy to give out security alerts about their host country?

Do they tell our ' intelligence lot' first?

I would have thought their side tells our side, then our side tells us.

I don't see a point to any terrorist attack here, like is there some concert or gathering I am missing?
