US files criminal charges against Huawei

U.S. prosecutors filed criminal charges against Huawei Technologies Co., China’s largest technology company, alleging it stole trade secrets from an American rival and committed bank fraud by violating sanctions against doing business with Iran.

Huawei has been the target of a broad U.S. crackdown, including allegations it sold telecommunications equipment that could be used by China’s Communist Party for spying. [Bloomberg]

The theft of trade secrets has already been the subject of a civil suit, where the jury found "neither damages nor wilful and malicious conduct".

The US government probably needs to carry on banging on this drum since it is all that they have. After ten years of claiming that there is spying on networks not one shred of evidence has emerged, not even by accident.

“The company denies that it or its subsidiary or affiliate have committed any of the asserted violations of U.S. law set forth in each of the indictments, is not aware of any wrongdoing by Ms. Meng, and believes the U.S. courts will ultimately reach the same conclusion
Wouldn't put too much trust in US courts.
