US Government warns SA stakeholders to start making plans for Eskom grid collapse, even if unlikely

Certainly so far with the extended Stage 6 we have seen some water reservoirs requiring generators, and even water tankers having to be deployed. Even without a grid collapse Stages 7 or 8 for some days or a week, is going to cause way more water, sewerage, traffic light, etc problems. So far Stage 6 has been the edge everyone could just manage to hang on with, and I don't think planning has gone as far as extended Stage 7 or 8 yet anywhere. The trend seems to indicate we will be touching Stage 7 by Winter this year, as no reversal of the availability downward trends have happened yet.

Yes, that last bit is very worrying, the steadily increased loadshedding isn't just more inconveniencing it's an indicator we're getting closer to a proper kakspul. I'm also not a fan of hearing that getting this entire grid to even boot is not going to be a straight forward as initially thought.

Jesus Christ, and my ex said I was crazy for wanting to emigrate back then when this all started, no wonder she's my ex.

If you follow the trend of outages over the past 24 months, "thinking about disaster management" should have been started around 12 months ago, actually, because the ANC, the people responsible for this mess, sure as **** isn't going to.

Biggest issue is water, that alone can turn everything on its head.
Disaster management began here when the KFCs started shutting...A nation in terror...

I have a lot of faith in Eskom System Operators. I think they really know what they’re doing,” they said.

I have a lot of faith in my pilot, he really knows what he's doing.

Make plans, because Uncle Sam doesn't have resources to spare for South Africa's looming fsckup.

Zelensky is still standing first in the aid line.

So nice of the ANC to cockblock Starlink right as it seems the country is going into a long stretch of blackouts. Hope the kickbacks you got from the competition buys you a ticket to Dubai when your time comes.

When the US Government takes a special interest in your country you should be s**t scared.
They're such lovers causing anarchy and chaos in other countries.
Stop talking kak they've got Billions in commercial interests here, the only "lovers causing anarchy and chaos" is your tjommies in the ANC.

So they only now "concerned" about their billions?
Things in SA has been bad for a long long time.
This supposed blackout wíll happen if they will it.

"Washington, they said, intends to treat South Africa not as another aid-hungry African nation but as a continental powerhouse and an emerging multiracial democracy that could serve as an example to smaller countries overwhelmed by ethnic hatreds, from Rwanda to Bosnia. "

Written in the NY Times at the time of AL Gores visit to SA in 1995.

Their tune has changed somewhat since then.

I guess that time has proven what Africa and Africa ism is all about?

Probably not a bad idea to have a plan, in any case, this is a prepper's wet dream, btw.
No its not. As a (lite) prepper myself, i can assure you, you wish to spend all your prepping hoping to never have to make use of it.

That said, no matter where you live in the world, or what positive outlook you may have, you should always prep a little. Its the exact same reason you buy insurance

That was only said to keep the wokes calm. What they really wanted to say is:

"The idiots are gonna fvck it up completely now."

Who wants Uncle Sam's help? Isn't he the enemy?
They usually through underhanded moves overthrow governments and install something better for them financially.
Why would we not want this?
I'm not convinced the US is capable of finding someone dumber that our current president

Ah I see, the light gray font is supposed to be the proverbial "touch wood" in your post. :)

Uncle Sam has been keeping millions of South Africans alive through HIV treatment programs. Whose enemy is he? Putins'? I suppose if SA gov consider Putin our saviour then yes, US are the enemy.
