President Donald Trump’s top envoy to Ukraine told House impeachment investigators on Tuesday of intense efforts by administration officials to secure politically-motivated investigations of Trump’s rivals in exchange for a White House meeting with Ukraine’s president and critical military aid.

Mulvaney jumped ahead in the spinning olympics, but going to be fun watching all the Trump-cultists pivot flawlessly from "fake news, it didn't happen" to "it happened and so what, it's actually good".

It’s going to especially fun watching Lindsey “quid pro quo is the new collusion” Graham squirm.

"I do not know how you would listen to today's testimony by the ambassador, Ambassador Taylor, and draw any other conclusion, except that the president abused his power and withheld foreign aid," said Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla. "It's a direct line."

Rep. Steven Lynch, D-Mass., said "without question" it was the most powerful testimony heard to date, because Taylor has "first-hand knowledge” of all the relevant conversations.

Graham never misses an opportunity to embarrass himself.

Recall all the scolding about using 'hyperbolic language' with regards to the interment camps they shoved children into.

And here's what Graham said last month:

"What would’ve been wrong is if the president had suggested to the Ukrainian government that if you don’t do what I want you to do regarding the Bidens, we’re not going to give you the aid."

Welp!

Mitch McConnell on the other hand seems to be more tepid:

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Tuesday that he never had -- or at least doesn't recall having -- a conversation with President Donald Trump in which he described Trump's call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as perfect.

Some more perspective that puts to bed the absurd notion that 'msm' were in the bank for Clinton, or even anti-Trump, really.

Trump is corrupt, and he is corrupting the US state.
 the US state has been a vile and corrupt cesspool long before Trump was even born, it will remain that way long after he is gone. Trump is a mere blip on the corrupt US radar, insignificant in the great scheme of things.

A Bernie/Tulsi ticket may actually crush OrangeManBad. I guess the Russian bots and right-wingers will support that idea to never make it happen.

There's no way Bernie will win. You cannot run on increasing taxes for everyone. The poor socialist he appeals to is a small minority.

And yet, the golden era of capitalism, back in the 60s, took place during a period of very high taxation. The top marginal tax rate in the US then was 91%.

Bernie is proposing tax increases not for everyone, but for the top 1%. Also, in a well-functioning society, like the US, there's a quid pro quo to increasing taxes, e.g. universal healthcare. You pay more taxes but less on medical insurance.

If you propose to tax the 1% to such an extreme they will structure their estates in a manner to avoid the tax (move assets offshore etc) , or simply leave like they are doing in SA.

You can never tax a country into prosperity.

Here's some education material.

Edit: people will pay taxes that they agree with but will move there assets if the tax burden becomes too high.
The billionaire don't have the money in the bank so that you can just tax it like Bernie think. They have assets mostly shares in companies that they started themselves. A 90% tax won't be the money grap that the Bernie supporters think it will be.

But you get universal healthcare... pay 650k tax, great deal, save 5k on medical aid
Dumb socialist logic, this is why you always run out of other peoples money... 'They have more money than me, take it all'... only its not much, top 1% average what 700k annually, that runs out very quick, can't do much with it, need a larger base to pay for the large bases free ****, so, guess whos next... you... then you're all outraged calling it theft etc:giggle:

There is a line between under and over tax, just as its possible to over tax its also possible to under tax. The point where reducing taxes further doesn't actually simulate growth or help the majority of the country in any way.
