That has absolutely nothing to do with this. Please can you demonstrate how this is not a trial via media. Just look at how cerebus and others have already made up their minds, and are not interested in any counter evidence.

Also, if this is just evidence gathering, it should not be in the media at all so the evidence is not tainted and the accused has a fair chance to counter the evidence. Yet, it seems that, once again, the media is being fed certain information to push their own narratives.

Republicans storm closed-door hearing to protest impeachment inquiry

You mean like storming closed door hearings?

Deep State agent who probably voted for Hillary Clinton and definitely not a Trump supporter Bill Taylor sure has a lot to say about Ukraine:

Looks like there's some quos for the quids.

No wonder Emjay is desperately flailing, especially with stories like this coming out, daily now:

More than two months before the phone call that launched the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, Ukraine’s newly elected leader was already worried about pressure from the U.S. president to investigate his Democratic rival Joe Biden.

One of the two indicted associates of President Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudolph W. Giuliani, on Wednesday tied the case to the president himself, saying that some of the evidence gathered in the investigation could be subject to executive privilege.

The unusual argument was raised by a defense lawyer in federal court in Manhattan as the two associates, Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, pleaded not guilty to federal charges that they had made illegal campaign contributions to political candidates in the United States in exchange for potential influence.

You can't say that unless you admit that everyone is equally toxic and someone should really look into everyone's toxicity because that's only fair.

It's such a pathetic attempt to defend Trump. Actually, everyone and everything is equally bad and corrupt, so ignore Trump's ongoing malfeasance and obviously impeachable conduct.

Same mentality that sits behind defending Trump's 14k lies while laughably trying to censure Adam Schiff for dishonesty.

Republicans stage sit-in as new Ukraine details contradict Trump’s denials

These Republicans are obstructing congress. It's the kind of thing I'd expect from the EFF here in South Africa. Perhaps because Mr Trump and Mr Malema are birds of a feather.

Can't be. We were told impeachment would be good for Trump.

Now his worthless minions have to pull absurd stunts like this.

A controversial arms deal for Arab allies approved by the Trump administration will allow U.S. hi-tech bomb parts to be manufactured in Saudi Arabia, giving Riyadh unprecedented access to a sensitive weapons technology.

The production arrangement is part of a larger $8.1 billion arms package for Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan announced two weeks ago. The Trump administration pressed ahead with the sale without congressional approval, declaring an "emergency" based on what it said was a heightened threat from Iran.

It couldn't be because there's actually fire to go along with the smoke, and that this would have significant fallout in the 2020 elections, right? :sneaky:

It's been rather obvious since Trump got into office that lawfare has been part of the game. Rather silly of you to take it as a sign of anything other than lawfare.

Well hey, it seems you can at least admit Schiff is dishonest. Guess we're getting some of that fine progress you SJWs are constantly struggling over.

The TDS has fried your brains. It's possible for the impeachment to be good for Trump and also for it to be good for pro-Trump Republicans to loudly show their support for Trump in the impeachment hearings to rally pro-Trump support in the elections.

Its been very very good for trump... dems just repeating the same mistakes as 2016, every piece of media has his name stamped in big bold letters, they're his marketing team and he doesn't have to pay them a cent

I'm starting to think Republicans claiming people involved in breaching security protocols for classified information (like emails, say) should be jailed weren't being entirely sincere.

Also, re. open vs closed hearings:

Final GOP report on during Benghazi hearings, page 360:

"The Committee’s preference for private interviews over public hearings has been questioned. Interviews are a more efficient and effective means of discovery. Interviews allow witnesses to be questioned in depth by a highly prepared member or staff person. In a hearing, every member of a committee is recognized—usually for five minutes—a procedure which precludes in-depth focused questioning. Interviews also allow the Committee to safeguard the privacy of witnesses who may fear retaliation for cooperating or whose work requires anonymity, such as intelligence community operatives."

Former GOP Rep. Trey Gowdy in 2014:

"I can get more information in a five-hour deposition than I can in five minutes of listening to a colleague ask questions in committee hearings,"

Its been very very good for trump...

This is not good for Trump. His approval rating is a record low, Lindsey Graham is unable to defend him and Mitch McConnell outright refuted his claims, his hardcore supporters like Gaetz have been reduced to breaking the law with ludicrous publicity stunts, and the only thing they can do is attack the process of investigation without addressing the overwhelming evidence that Trump and Giuliani were engaged in an extortion racket of Ukraine.

A survey from Quinnipiac University

In 2016, Quinnipiac incorrectly predicted a Hillary Clinton "landslide" in the United States presidential election.
