Lol so this is what political point scoring has come to. You'll Impeach Trump and he'll remain president. That's like a win-win?
I love how subconsciously partisan your words are.

Greg is not a Democratic Congress member. "He" will not impeach anyone.

I don't think anyone needs to pretend anymore that Greg or you aren't playing for team Dems or that your opinion are still neutral and not partisan.

From what I'm reading, Lindsey Graham had 39 co-sponsors on yesterday's resolution... That means 14 Republican senators wanted nothing to do with his interpretive dance.

Now I'm not saying they'll vote to convict and remove Donnie, but I am saying if you add 14 to 47 you have 61.

61 Votes before a minute of public hearings... You're betting the farm on 5 senators *not* voting...

... To confirm President Mike Pence.

Yes and you are the bastion of neutrality, by supporting a hissy fit that the Republican Party are having over the very rules they set up, just because it does not suite them.

You will definitely lose in that civil war. Crying isn't going to win you any battles.

Not that a civil war would be needed because the Dems will never get any real Impeachment proceedings going. It is all just a trial by media.

Dems are doing trial by media.

/Republicans do political stunt for media complaining the dems are being too secretive. Even though they are going by the rules the Republicans made.

/Back to trial by media.

...

In years to come they will run multiple studies on the Trumpet brain as its truly a hive of self contradiction.

I have no idea what you are even on about, I don't watch CNN. But Pence would be okay.

Tell us, in your unbridled wisdom, how does one combat a trial by media?

It's really not political point scoring. What Trump did, from what's been coming out of the multitude of self-enforcing testimonies, is absolutely impeachable on multiple fronts. Emoluments, election interference, bribery, obstruction of justice, abuse of power in several ways - power of removal, power over funds, power to influence foreign policy, and running a shadow foreign policy.

What's truly galling is that the Republicans might still decide none of this matters and they'll just vote to keep him in power when it's perfectly obvious that he's unsuited for the presidency in every way possible. If this was a real trial, it would already have gone into plea bargaining with the weight of evidence stacked against Trump right now.

There's no such thing as a trial by media. Trump is getting a real trial as he is entitled to.

o_O

"It's not a thing because I say so!"

So riddle me this. If this is just an evidentiary gathering exercise, and the defendant cannot present its own evidence, how is it a done deal? I wonder how you got to that conclusion. Oh, you got to that conclusion because the MEDIA IS FEEDING YOU THAT INFORMATION.

To quote your own words:

At this point impeachment is practically guaranteed, the only question is how many articles of impeachment they will choose to bring against Trump. And of course what happens in the Senate is completely unknowable; perhaps they will simply choose to shut it down with a quick vote, or perhaps they'll pressure Trump to stand down because he's become too toxic.

Lol. We've all heard about how he is unfit from day one. Maybe you overdid the hysteria and conspiracy theories a bit. And now nobody takes this nonsense seriously anymore.

The media is analysing the information that has become public, as it's supposed to do. That includes material that the White House has released or stated in public, public statements by witnesses, and impressions from members of the hearing committee. And what's public, what we know about already, is extraordinarily damning. That doesn't make it a trial by media - if there was such a thing, the media would have the power to sentence Trump, which it doesn't have. It's just some made up nonsense. If what was coming out so far had any power to vindicate Trump, you can be certain that it also would have come out by now.

Emjay please wait until you have composed yourself to make a full statement instead of constantly revising what you said and making me scroll back to answer something you just added after you posted Send. I understand that you're triggered beyond all belief, but please exercise some self control here.

Trial by media in the court of public opinion. No one is saying the media has judicial powers...

I cannot even believe this is a conversation I am having with an actual adult.
