Journalists do make mistakes. On reputable sites, they get called on them and they amend them when new facts come to light. On disreputable sites they hide behind anonymous usernames and unfalsifiable claims.

Truth be told, all these silly diversions are not helping trump to achieve his important national objectives of building wall, drain the swamp, locking her up.

I know many anti-Trump people are getting excited over this.

I am not. Nothing will come of it. Far too many sycophants in the GOP who will block it in the Senate and far too many incompetent Democrats to make this of any substance.
But then how did this pass unanimously? No republicans in house? Or is it part of trump's 4-D chess?

Dems probably see it as the rope with which Trump will hang himself and the GOP see it as the rope which the Dems will hang themselves on.

Trump doesn’t seem to be quite as sanguine as the rest of the GOP:

I want to know who’s the person, who’s the person who gave the whistleblower the information? Because that’s close to a spy,” he continued. “You know what we used to do in the old days when we were smart? Right? The spies and treason, we used to handle it a little differently than we do now.

This is going too end up just like the Russian collusion hoax:p

Which part is the hoax, exactly? Have you read the Mueller report?

BBSA said:
Seems the dems are scared to take him on in an election.

Totally, that's why he's the one soliciting foreign governments to try and make things up about one of his rivals.

You didn't watch the videos either, did you? Ukraine was involved in the Russiagate hoax. This story is going to blowback on all of that, because that's what Trump was actually asking about in the transcript. It's only a matter of time before the FISA warrants are declared illegal. The dominoes are being lined up oh oh oh so nicely, and Trump has baited the lamestream media into latching onto the story in such a way to maximise the exposure instead of burying all the pro-Trump news like they usually do.

Truth no longer exists around Trump in general and that includes Trump himself. So why someone would believe the Trump denial is a mystery to me as much as it would be for those who just straight up believe these media stories.

Worth pointing out that everything that's been reported by credible media outlets about this latest scandal has been shown to be true, while everything Trump has said has been a lie. It's absurd to pretend it's all just the same.

I know many anti-Trump people are getting excited over this.

Tired of all these So and So is going to jail, from Trump to Hillary to who ever.

Democrats need to focus on the election, build up a team that focus on things that matter to everyday americans. Unless they get more unequivocal evidence on this Ukraine story, it is and will just be another Russia 2.0 and the end will not be good for the Dems at the polls.

Have you been following any of the Dem campaign coverage? Trump doesn't feature all that much at all, and neither does impeachment. Only Tom Steyer goes on about that, and he's a nobody.

Although there is something quite capitulatory about just letting a lawless admin get away with all of it, instead of nailing Republicans with protecting his corruption, which is what they're doing.

Agreed. They still not focusing on getting behind 1 person to lead them

I mean, It's a primary election - that's what they're for. GOP had 16 people running for the 2016 nom.

Ok so its a classic case of the media rushing to be the first to release a story rather than waiting a bit longer and getting all the facts.

By "get all the facts" you mean publish the words* of an admin that lies all the time, about everything? What reason do we have to believe their claims at all? How many Cabinet members were reported to have said bad stuff about Trump privately, denied it, and then confirmed after losing their jobs? I recall Tillerson and Mattis, at least.

*Not saying they shouldn't include their comments, obviously.

Seems Rudy is being set up as the fall guy.

Whistleblower's complaint here:

Pretty obvious that the people around him knew immediately how bad it was and were trying to cover it up, including with dodgy data handling methods. Good thing so many people on the right pretended to care a lot about that in 2016!

And the pathway that Barr, who is also involved, took is pretty clear:

- Tells ODNI not to give the complaint to Congress, as is required by law, but instead give it to DOJ
- DOJ, which is run by Barr, buries it

Havent been following everything with this new scandal, was just talking in general. Im also not trying to rate who lies more (thats impossible) just that they all lie.

Trump should probably be thankful they handle it differently.

A good write-up about it:

I get why GOP leaders indulge this kind of garbage being shopped around in the right wing press, but it's a little frightening that Trump genuinely seems to actually believe it. Getting high on his own supply.

Almost missed footnote no. 3.

“I do not know why the president associates these servers with Ukraine.”

Jeff Flake says 'at least 35' Republican senators would privately vote to impeach Trump

Appearing at the 2019 Texas Tribune Festival, Flake, a frequent critic of the president, offered his own reaction and predicted that close to three dozen Republican senators would back impeachment.

"I heard someone say if there were a private vote there would be 30 Republican votes. That's not true," Flake said during a Q&A. "There would be at least 35."
