My medical aid is less than my taxes.

I would like to see the source for this. Because it is complete nonsense.

There exist many private charities and churches that take care of people who can't take car of themselves.
Also family.

The last thing we sould do is make it easy for someone who is extremely obese because that just enables them.

Did you actually take time to think about it? Because your post doesn't make sense.

No one said 100% of your taxes are going to health insurance.
Well either way 20% vs 4% is BS.

I can't believe South Africans would think public healthcare is a good idea. It's ridiculous.

And this map is old. I know for a fact that Indonesia now has a medicaid type program where you pay 50 rand a month for full coverage.

Why can't those midwestern/southern states control themselves? Is it an inherent flaw in conservative people?
Well there goes the meme of the caring, compassionate progressive who only views the world through peace, love and diversity.

But that is a side point not really relevant to the discussion of state healthcare. The halfway point if you really wanted it, would be to get the federal government out of healthcare completely and make it a function of state governments only, alongside the proportion of taxes that the current system chews up.

Then if progressives in California and NYS want to have a Sweden style NHI, they can do it without any form of real opposition.

I've actually read that book as it happens... just checking, you do know that many high-profile Dems are part of that elite, as are many of their supporters?

Also on that note: Currently reading the excellent book on the opioid crisis - "the Empire of Pain" - and it is noted that in one chapter, one of the offspring of Sackler clan (who started Purdue Pharma) is a very woke activist who supported BLM, donated money to the Dems and described herself as a "social justice activist" yet refuses to engage on the source of wealth.

Well there goes the meme of the 'facts don't care about your feelings', "ohmygod the left are snowflakes not us" conservatives.
