Hi

I'm still relatively new to WoW. I'm curently on a TBC trial and I'm seriously considering re-activating my account.

I have a lvl ~30 Ranger on the Ocianic Nagrand server (and a few other alts)

I saw on the forums here that there are a few SA guilds on the US Stormrage server so I'm willing to start over fresh on this server if any of the SA guilds have a space open?

I prefer Alliance side, I rolled a dwarf ranger last night, his name is Keme if you want to look me up ingame. My xfire username is TealMercury.

I dont need handholding, I'm just looking for some company in game and hopefully some raiding when I get high enough. A guild that still does lower level instances and the lvl 60+ raids would be perfect.

I'm not new to MMO's, most recent MMO played was AoC since August last year. I have a lvl 80 Necro there.

Personal info:
I'm 33, married & kids (This means IRL I can solo raid bosses, with my mouse hand chilling :D)
My wife is still stuck on AoC, don't know if I can pull her into WoW.
I'll most probably get my Kids (12 & 10) a WoW account at some point.
(We used to game together as a family in Guild Wars and City of Heroes before AoC)

Lol, I meant a Hunter! (Too many MMO's spoil the soup it seems)

EDIT:
I already have a full WoW classic account (afaik you can only try TBC when you own WoW classic).

I have considered buying the EU version but decided to try this route first.
This way I only have to pay for one month to be able to play and the $ is still cheaper than the Euro.
If I buy the EU version I'm looking at DL another 5-6GB of patches :{

Lol, get a EU account most ppl in SA are on EU, raid times are better and patch days wont effect you as much.

Like tonight I get to go home and do nothing until wow comes online at 8-10pm

Is there a way to change the US client to an EU client without having to do all the patching again?

Maybe copy the EU launcher into the US client folder and just patch up the wow.exe, etc., and not all the data files?

I see the EU Wow classic is going for R111 on take2...

nope you would have to get a EU account.

He said client.

And yes there is. If you edit the config file in the WTF directory it has a realmlist= variable. (or something with a similar name)
Just change the US to EU and you're sorted.

The only problem is that you need to download US Patches.

Indeed,so every wednesday a patch rolls you'd have to modify the realmlist again, also i'm not sure how the US version handles European localization like translated itemnames and special characters, could be fine, could not be.

But then again if you buy a new EU vanilla+tbc+tlk keys u may aswell just spent the extra R100 and download the last season of patches after installing - for the right version

Don't think I'll go bos and buy EU Classic + BC + WotLK just yet. I have just used +- 4.5GB to update my US WoW last week.

BTW, still waiting to hear about a SA guild on Stormrage... :)

@Tealmercury I am sure there are some nice forumites in CT who would be willing to drop their WoW directory onto your external hard drive. Petrol is cheaper than bandwidth.

OC??

I managed to grab an up to date copy from a colleague and I ordered Classic and TBC from take2. I also decided to roll on the new PVE server, saurfang I think. Was very wierd to see the starting area swarming with people!

Thanks for the help guys.
