US trade ban is about global tech dominance - Huawei

Restrictions introduced by Washington on Friday that ostensibly aim to allay U.S. cybersecurity concerns are really designed to safeguard American dominance of global tech, a senior Huawei Technologies Co. executive said Monday.

“The so-called cybersecurity reasons are merely an excuse,” Richard Yu, head of the Chinese tech giant’s consumer electronics unit, wrote in a post to his account on messaging app WeChat. “The key is the threat to the technology hegemony of the U.S.” posed by Huawei, he added.

Yu also posted a link to a Chinese article circulating on social media with part of its headline asking: “Why Does America Want to Kill Huawei?”

China needs to open up its economy to outside competition if it wants the world to trust its companies. The Chinese blatantly copy products and and ban competing products in their own country. Now want fair trading rules in other countries ? Case of a pot calling the kettle black.

It's all about MAGA and trade dominance and nothing to do with security or Huawei.
The Turmp Admin has bullied & threatend Canada, Mexico, China, EU, UK, etc.

As Thomas Merton said "The tighter you squeeze, the less you have"

As USA imposes stricter trade rules, this forces China to place US companies on the "unreliable entity list" and make use of alternative non-US suppliers or internal supply.

It's obviously a politically motivated attack on Huawei to maintain US technological supremacy.

China needs to sell US debt now.. let the Americans see who wants their dollar when $1T is sold and they got $3.5T new debt, i mean 'asset purchase' going buying even etfs haha

Huawei and all chinese companies can shrivel up and die in a ditch for all I care.

I was partially on the side of Huawei to continue to operate pre covid19 but with covid19 and CCP approach I couldnt give a fk now if that entire economy and population go straight back to 1980's China conditions.

Fuk em

Watch FOX much?

Watch FOX much?

What about my point around china and covid19 did you not understand and what does that have to do with FOX ?

Im going to just assume now that you think the virus did not spread from China due to negligence from the CCP dictators. Keep eating your ice cream, there won't be any left for you when this is over.

PS. Having a hardon for AOC is no different to having AIDS. No idea why you would want to have AIDS but ok.

I don’t get people trying to blame China for everything. Take South Africa, We got the virus from travelers from Italy, UK and Spain. The people from Wuhan didn’t bring the virus at all.

Very few people who live outside China understands how unfair they are with international companies.
Tech companies provide a platform for China to copy; once copied, they outright ban or make it impossible for them to operate inside China.

For example, China invited e-bay to operate in China. Once they saw how the model worked, they started their own state-backed platform, Taobao, and banned e-bay.
Uber went the same route. Uber brought all the research and know-how - China copied it, created Didi, and bam Uber got banned.

China is for China and the rest of the world cannot engage in good faith, because there is none to be had. The world can work with China, but it should be with the understanding that China does not play fair. This US trade war is giving the CCP a taste of their own medicine, and they don't like it.

The forking virus started in China. They sat on their hands with the data the world needed to make effective decisions for weeks, if not months. That virus should hardly have left China. And they actually tried to keep travel open. For example when Australia moved to suspend air travel the Chinese ruthlessly criticised them. Threatening them economically.
Why can poor countries contain the spread of god awful viruses like Ebola and Zika, but China, a wealthy nation, couldn't contain Corona?
Because they don't work with the rest of world unless they have something to gain. Not even with regards to something like pandemics. China only cares about China.

Chinese citizens were quarantined inside Wuhan and were not allowed to travel anywhere inside China. However, Chinese citizens were allowed to fly out from Wuhan to anywhere in the rest of the world. If anything, as mentioned above, China aggressively did what they can to keep air travel open.

It is so unbelievably immoral and raises so many conspiracy theories, I would not blame you if you thought it wasn't true. But it is.

As said, China is for China. Don't be fooled.

You are probably right Huawei but here's the thing, nobody actually cares :giggle:
