At first I thought "what a pervert" !

Anyway here's pictures of a teenage girl that was aprehended before detonating herself - she's lucky because one of the latest trends is to hold family of the suicide bomber with the threat that they die if the suicide bomber does go through with it, then many are detonated by remote.

Wow, interesting. Thanks. It sickens me that these "freedom fighters" would put their own daughters and children in the line of fire!

What kind of sub-human would even think of doing something like that?

No wonder the IDF are so determined to wipe out the scum that are Hamas!

They must be lying. Couldn't possibly be true

Oh please. 10 000 U.S more troops arrive and violence plummets. So much for murdering innocent people . They just decided to shoot her dead for the fun of it. You have absolutely no proof they just shot her. Accounts from U.S and also Iraqi officials say she ignored the warnings. All you have going for your version of events is your bigoted bias which carries no weight
Obviously he will try to make out like the US gave no warnings, why even bother arguing with him?

Alan, you seem to be one cooldhearted SOB, probably quite similar to the damn ******* terrorists..

no just a realist. In warzones these things happen. Perhaps you're the cold hearted SOB if you expect soldiers must not take action when somebody ignores there warnings. What's the point of having checkpoints then . Nobody doubts this is a tragedy put you can't always blame the soldiers for taking action defending themselves, comrades and innocent civilians lives. You would probably do the same

Yeah dealing with head in clouds idealists again. By their rational if you produce something containing a warning label better watch out because if somebody ignores it and ends up suffering the consequences you'll be solely liable

Well the yanks invented the term "fragging" in Vietnam as a term for taking out their own officers - if you can do that then what's the problem with taking out a civilian or two anyway ( remember [-]The Alamo[/-] My Lai! )?

My dad use to say "It's ok to be poor, but there is no excuse for being stupid"

Why did she even go close to the troops if she know she is deaf.

"This one time, at band camp........ a white dude was walking around Haarlem with a Clux Clux Clan mask on. He got shot after various big black males gestured for him to go away.
His excuse was he could not see through the small holes in the white sheet"

there is a difference, she wasn't walking around with a detonator in her hand or a giant sign saying "I'm a terrorist!" or maybe she did, maybe her husband remembered his "I'm not a terrorist, she is <----" poster

This is bloody stupid. Were any of you at any time in the police, defence force or any other serious security training?
If you were you would know that in a war zone or any other high risk area your orders are very clear and that is to shoot and most of the times shoot to kill if a posable suspect ignores your warnings. Yes it can lead to very tragic happenings, like this one, but you cannot blame the soldier, whether he's American, British, Palestinian or what ever. FFS grow up and think. Clearly the guys who says that it is the soldier's fault have never been in such circumstances!!

Why? did they close the borders?

Well then if you get killed by a gangsta or hijacker we'll blame you for staying on in SA despite the crime rate.

The point is this. This woman did not put Saddam Hussein in place. She did not cause him to be a criminal and she did not blow herself up before. She's just an ordinary woman living in HER country. She has the MOST RIGHT to that piece of land. To suggest that she should have left is extremely patronising and shows a total lack of understanding of what it's like to live under foreign occupation (or domestic occupation by unfriendly forces).

I'm not blaming the soldiers if they were following their standing orders, but definately not blaming her either, even if she should have known better - being a smart, savvy person (reporter in war torn country). Events which occurred were regrettable. Iraqis can't all pack up and leave. Who'll take them? How will they earn their money there? What about patriotism (love for own country and culture)?

In Soweto in the 80s the SADF were under the strictest orders to use "minimum force" and god help you at your court martial if you hadn't. That is a civilised approach for military operations in civilian areas, not that the whole SADF/Soweto thing was civilised but anyway.

Very true. This was not her fault, it was not his fault. I t was just a sad case of unfortunate circumstances. She reacted to a situation and he reacted to the situation and this is the outcome, sadly.

So in the end, what is the point of the invasion of Iraq? Either Saddam kills his own people or troops and terrorists kill other innocent people. Pretty much a waste of everyones time then isn't?

According to some here suicide bombers walk around with big signs identifying themselves. Not sure which Hollywood production portrayed that as the reality of the situation

I agree. These incidents are unavoidable :(
