Excellent performance by Usain Bolt. Tyson Gay's 9.71 was not bad at all...just that they are racing against a legend!

Wow. Did he not start celebrating 10m from the end this time? :)

No, but he did take the time to glance around for his competitors and check out the clock to see the time he was doing....

What is amazing is the fact that he said in December that he can run a time of 9.58. Now he did it, and by looking at the race he can do a better time cause he looked around before the finish line, so I wonder if he would be able to break the 9.58?

How long before we find out he was taking drugs? ;)

They tested him after the Olympics...and they test every winner of every event now...and do regular off-season and in-season tests. You can get banned just for missing a test (as is the case in most sports these days). After the Marion Jones saga I'm sure the IAAF is gonna protect their brand like gold, cheats equals less sponsors...but then again, cheats are always a step ahead.

Besides the doping Jones was very tall...same thing in common with Bolt. Reckon it's the length of stride that matters, I aint no scientist though! Michael Johnson said after the Olympics that Bolt wasn't a legend yet...bet he is eating his words now.

He could even improve on that fantastic time, since he is not the quickest out of the blocks due to his height. When I saw druggie Ben Johnson run it in 9.79s in 1988 I thought that was the fastest it was going to get. I've been eating my words ever since. :)

I don't think anyone of average height will ever be able to break Bolt's record.

At risk of taking this off topic, which is not my intention so let's try not to... but I just need to ask whether performances like these make the creation believers momentarily believe in evolution.... there are no streamline swimsuits being used here and yet humans are getting quicker and quicker....

The same applies to most sports. Yes, some involve technological improvements in equipment but some appear to just be as a result of evolution :)
