His reaction time was .133s, the fastest in the field. The most striking thing about that race, for me, was the speed with which he made up the stagger on the Panananamanian on his outside (who eventually finished second). That start was completely astounding.

The splits for the race should be published today - I'm sure it'll show Bolt completely creaming everyone else in the first 20m.

That happens reasonably often, maybe 20%-30% of the time (complete thumbsuck).

The big clock is just a read-out and does not necessarily reflect the actual official time.

Yep often corrected.....at OG it was 19.31 to 19.30.

The official finish time is a digital panoramic film (with the time on x axis) of very thin digital slice photos taken at the finish line (3000 per sec) so they can in fact give the time to 1/3000th of sec. That's why you don't have a dead heat despite same 1/100th time

yes he had the fastest reaction time but even he admitted he could improve his acceleration
