Some new laptops only include Card Express slots, which aren't compaitible with old PCMCIA/Cardbus cards currently supplied by service providers for 3G/HSDPA connections.

I've seen a few horrible looking adapters, but this one from Teltonika looks great... http://www.teltonika.lt/en/pages/view/?id=777

The local distributors are SealTron (http://www.sealtron.co.za), but they say it's not available yet :(

I know Teltonika are reliable and work great because we currently use a large number of their PCI GPRS cards.

Anybody know of any similar USB HSDPA devices in the meantime?

It is, a really nice little unit and supports the upcoming 3.6Mb/s spec.

My current favourite, looks cool with the little Vaio :)

Express card slots are due sometime now, i.e. Sep/Oct.

hsdpa usb

check with Vodacom... they have it instock.. I know.. because I'm using one..
I use it on my APple Intel IMAC though... struggled to get decent drivers but managed eventually... funny .. while I had it on and working Vodacom returned my query that it won't be supported for the next few months (if ever)..

Works fine on a Windows XP though..

How did you get it? Did you ask for it in place of the PCMCIA version? Or did you just buy from a Vodashop or something?

Why not go the wireless router + HSDPA card route it makes more sense to me its a 4 port hub/switch and wireless AP most laptops are wireless enabled and the unit is not exactly large fits into the laptop bag front pocket.
