Hi all,

I am looking at getting a USB Card Reader. Should at least take CF, CFII, MemoryStick, MemoryStick Pro and MMC ... can you guys make any suggestions?
EDIT: Should be able to do up to 8Gb on the CF and CFII cards
Thanks

I bought a cheap one at Photo Connection - R150 or so - for that money, I could not be @ssed to shop around :)

Anyway, reads EVERYTHING I have tried so far, neat and small.

The name on the thing is "Integral" - not sure if that is the brand name or wotnot.

Oh, and they had 2 types, same price, name etc, but the one did NOT read XD - so check first.

I quickly popped in at Matrix Warehouse ... goodness me, I am not impressed I must say (maybe just the branch I was in).

They have a card Reader there (brand = 52-in-1 ... WTF?). Reads anything you can think of, including my Hitachi 6Gb Microdrive, but the quality looks seriously dodgy. I can atually see the PC board where the connectors are soldered on. Pricewise very cheap (R159), so I am not to worried should it break, I am more concerned it will f$ck up the data on my cards.

Anyone seen or heard of these ones?

I feel the same most times. The one in Weltevreden is very friendly and helpful when I need network cables, but the impression I get is of a 3rd rate organisation. A few others I have been to have the same feel.

A shame really, as the prices are good and the staff friendly.
