Apparently using the USB when capped solves some ppl disconnection problems.

I was wondering if this would work for uncapped ppl aswell and if it does work for either capped/uncapped I ASK WHY?

It doesn't make sense.

Maybe they updated the firmware transparently again and now it has problems with ethernet.

On Monday I will try USB with winXP and ICS ... I will not accept this as a solution tho.

I've been running the modem on a router since the start, and according to the UTD Firmware Instruction txt file the modem has to be connected via USB to update the firmware.

So I guess that means I still have the old firmware.

No they do a OTA update without your knowledge (well they did last time)

If thats the case then they must have changed the way it's done, since according to the txt file it has to be connected via the USB, and it states that the firmware cannot be updated via the ethernet port.

Then again you probably know more about how it's done than what I do.

did you get this from that thread I started? I bet you did, I bet you also didn't read it properly, it stopped my modem from stuttering and being unresponsive for long enough to timeout downloads, thats it, no disconnections, all the talk about disconections was about me personally forcing a disconnection during blackout periods of a minute or so where everything dies, but I stay connected.

For all we know it must have been because I rebooted the modem or perhaps someone at WBS was working on something at that exact moment, we don't know so don't jump to conclusions

Yes slim I got it from you and Yes I asked if it was true or not.

They just can't seem to spread my 8KB/s evenly through multiple applications or threads and for the last 30 minutes the connection is just dying all over the place, so I attempt to recconect then get windows telling me access denied about 10 times and a minute later or so it connect, and dies in seconds.
It was hard to understand what you where on about.
You can see where I was coming from
windows telling me access denied about 10 times and a minute later or so it connect, and dies in seconds
sounded like your whole connection "dies in seconds"
And USB cable fixed this

you're right, thanks that did work, just had to move it a bit too, i guess USB it is for a while

I said transparently coz you wouldn't have known unless they told you. What if they didn't tell you the next time

no I don't see where you're coming from, dies means stopped responding, disconnected means, well disconnected. so for future reference if i say it disconnects it means it disconnects and if I don't then I'm not talking about disconnections
