HOwzit Guys, ANybody know where I can find the appropriate drivers/software for my new USB Huawei HSDPA Modem? I'm using the new Apple Intel IMAC.

PS: the software on Vodacom's website is only for PowerPC not Intel...

You would need to get the drivers from Huawei and then use your network settings to set up the connection. You don't need the Vodafone connect software.

intel MAC with USB HSDPA

I've tried that thanks!

but no luck with Huawei.. their site is useless... I'm not actually looking for the mobile connect from Vodafone.. I'm looking for the Drivers for an INTEL Mac.. currently my Mac can't find the modem.

Huawei on an Intel Mac

Thanks for the link bnr33, I got the Huawei working on a MBP 15/17, MacBook and Intel Core 2 Duo iMac and iBook G4.

Important - disable the sim pin on a mobile phone before you do anything. Download from the link http://www.vodafone.pt/NR/rdonlyres/78E5C308-B496-413E-B8D0-9D2E1A7A8575/0/E220MacOSDriver_v22.zip and install the drivers only. Leave the Huawei unplugged when you install the drivers. Go into System Preferences>Network and setup the Huawei modem.

username: vodacom
password: 1234

under modem tab
select Huawei Mobile Connect - 3G Modem
sound: off
Uncheck "Wait for dial tone before dialing"

click back to PPP, "apply changes" and click connect. Worked for me, no problem, and incredibly fast! If you have any q's, please pm me.

Cheers, happy surfing!

Huawei 's acting strange

Have actually ran into one strange issue, after a couple of setups of the Huawei on a Mac. Everything gets installed correctly, as I have tested before, and then in the Connect window, the modem connects, connects, connects and then on Authentication just quits.

So the solution so far, is to plug the Huawei into a Windows PC, connect to the Internet with it. Then unplug it, and reconnect it to your Mac - and then it works!

Strange, but it's worked like that on quite a couple of occasions already.

Cheers
