Hey all, I recently moved my modem to my main PC and all of a sudden every time I turn the modem on/off while in windows the PC reboots, I've tried reinstalling but to no avail, it never did this on my other PC, any ideas? The motherboard is a nForce2 which has USB 2.0 whereas the old one had USB 1.0, is this of any consequence?

Are you running multi-threading???

If yes , turn it off in the bios....

That might help!!!

My PC has nForce2 with USB 2.0 (ASUS board) - No Problem. I dont even have an issue with my notebook's Hyperthreading CPU... (Im running win2k - and since ProAsm made a few win2k adjustments, Im very happy)

Have you installed the latest windows service pack? (Except that nobody trusts XP SP2 yet - thats what I heard)

Otherwise how new is the motherboard chipset drivers? - I use the latest drivers from nVidia.com... But urm, It works for me, It does not mean that it will work for everybody... "I take no responsibility blah blah"

SIGH, this can get complicated, you can even try stuff like switching off error checking on the USB ports.... And in the end decide to reload windows...

Dudes, nVidia (nForce2) chipset only supports Athlon XP chips - there is no Hyperthreading.

Errrrrrmmmmm ......................................................................................................

I think this is why rpm spent so much time and effort creating a MyWireless technical forum

If we don't take care of the customers, maybe they'll stop bugging us.
