I've got a few LCD TVs but don't think that any of them have a digital TV tuner that can pick up DVB-T2, but do have USB and HDMI ports.

When the analogue to digital switchover finally happens here in South Africa, I'm not looking forward to having to buy a separate set top box for each TV (means extra cabling and power and aerials).

Does anyone know of good DVB-T2 TV Tuner dongles that I could plug into the HDMI port or USB port in order to receive digital terrestrial TV (free-to-air channels is fine for now - SABC1-3, e.tv). Would be great if they came with their own aerials too as a bonus

I was picking up the signal and using it till the complex areal stopped working. but the problem is that e-tv is pushing for encryption so i am not sure what will happen, they e-tv are saying that junk stb's will flood the country, but i have a samsung with a HDD to record, but ill have to wait and see what these clowns get up to, as I know nothing hardly goes correct in this Country..

Thanks, yeah that's the big question - to be encrypted or not to be encrypted ...

Were you using USB TV tuner dongle to pick up signal or just connected through normal TV aerial?
