Hello All,

I got MWEB Fibre installed but I don't want to use their Zyxel Router.

I would like to keep my existing Netgear Router.

So can someone confirm that I am doing the right thing by

- Connect the ONT to the WAN port on the Netgear Router
- Switch the Netgear Router to PPPoE

Is there anything else to consider?

Thank you in advance.

If it has a WAN port it should do the job no problem.

But depending on the speed of the Fibre you had installed you might find the Router is a limiter in that regard.

Yeah that should be fine

Basic rule is if its got an RJ45 WAN port, you're good to go

Shouldnt need to switch to PPPoE,assuming the Zyxel is already connected and provisioned you would just tell the Netgear to use it as a static gateway

Jaysa if you get this right please let me know. I have a Netgear D6300 and I'm currently battling to set it up.

Select wan port and apply the setting

Power down and connect it to your ONT.

Boot up, login to router, go ADVANCE tab -> WPS WIZARD -> Setup -> Internet Setup
Does your Internet connection require a login? YES
Internet Service Provider: PPPoE
Login: as provided by your isp
Password: as provided by your isp

Apply settings and it should work.
