Use time machine with NAS drives

I wonder if that doesnt just do the same as:
Code:
defaults write com.apple.systempreferences TMShowUnsupportedNetworkVolumes 1
My concern is that Apple disabled the feature after initially promoting its availability . . . they might have had a good reason for doing so?

Heh heh - probably since the app is like 74 kb. Luckly its free!!

I won't be using it though - I managed to pick up a 2nd hand Western Digital Media drive which has firewire access and works like a hub as well - so now have my travelling USB FAT drive hooked up to the behind of the WD and my Logitech wireless mouse dongle stuck in the front of the WD. Created 3 partitions on the drive - one with Tiger on, one for Time Machine and the 3rd for media(data) files.
Just love all those drive icons on the desktop..
