Use XBox on LCD screen

Can one use the XBox on your LCD screen with an analog input? Can you set the resolution of the output? I'm really a n00b when it concerns XBox.

Please use the proper name,It's Xbox360 not xbox unless your refer to the old xbox 1.

now that helps.

you need to buy a VGA HD cable for the X360 which connects to your analogue input on your LCD monitor, depending on your monitor you are safe by setting any resolution but most X360 games will run @ 1280x720, thus if you have a 5:4 LCD you will get black bars on top and bottom whilst playing.

getting a widescreen LCD is your best bet though, i have one and its great!
