@///MoH Actually tipped me off.

Basically if you have a Telkom B315s-936 then you can force B38/41 on Rain by using one of the huawei band tools.

Using the huawei_band_tool_v0.1 Run the .bat file I edited (LTE_2500_TDD_Rain_b38) to force the B315 to Band 41 which is actually a range from 2496 – 2690Mhz which covers the Rain 2600MHz frequency.

Using the E5186 Toolbox_latest You need to inject this in the api settings net-mode 0000010000000000 to force band 41 on this tool.

Tested it on 2 B315 from Telkom. One branded and one not brand both worked. So if you using a B315s-936 you can now force B41 on Rain for possibly better speeds if you don't have a B618.
Am not technical...I downloaded .bat file and Toolbox.
Can you please post a step by step guide to do this

Make sure you are using a windows laptop or computer.

Download that zip folder and unzip it. https://mybroadband.co.za/forum/attachments/huawei_band_tool_v0-1-zip.582724/

Now with note pad edit this file huawei_band_tool_config.txt

Make sure your router IP address is correct and the username and password is correct. Save that file.

Now just double click LTE_2500_TDD_Rain_b38,bat that file. You should see a bacl cmd box with SUCCESS. Now the router should briefly lose signal show a red light then pick signal up again. If it permanently stays red then the tower is too far or the tower does not have band 38 on it.

To move back to the previous frequency just run LTE_ALL.bat OR log into the router with a browser and change it from 4G Only mode to 3G Only mode and back to 4G only mode. Bands should be back where they were.

Forget about that part. There is another band tool that some people use and that line or instruction is for those people. I would ignore it because the band tool I uploaded in my original post is more user friendly

Hi Gents,

I just bought a Rain sim. If I pop this into my Telkom B315 Rooter, Will the Rain sim card work and will I it get signal automatically? Depends on the area I'm staying?

Hi guys, wondering which router I should get, my current router, Huawei E5186s-61a has bands 3/7/28/40
my dl speeds are always about less than half my upload speeds, question is, between the B525s-65a: Band 1/3/4/5/7/8/20/19/26/28/32/38/40/41 or the B618s-22d: Band1/3/7/8/20/38 should I be looking at, if either.

Both decent routers B525 will work on Telkom 4G+ and the B618 won't but it has 4x4 mimo so might give you better speed on Rain.
