WBS/iBurst announced today (7/10/2005) that UTD's are no longer available on the Finance (24 month contract) scheme. This means that ALL new subscribers will have to purchase a modem. For a limited time (?) the UTC (Laptop - PCMCIA) will still be available on the Finance Scheme, including the new release on the i-Go Package.

Anyone have any more details on this?

I've got a friend currently attempting to get one on contract, so I'll let you know as it develops.

I reckon that if the UTD was cheaper they would have stacks more customers. I don't mind their monthly fee but there is no way that I am dropping R2600 on a UTD. But now if you don't even get a UTD on contract what is the point of going on 24 month contract with them?

Some PPL didn't pay the activation fee on contract.
That could be the problem
