The concept of burning things is apparently unique to SA. And it has its roots in the 1970s ANC. I was told by people from Zim that the lot in SA are the only ones who do the burning thing.
I can believe this as there is no sign of such things as burnt tyres on the Zim roads (maybe the brutality of the ZANU PF has something to do with it) I went on but each town, suburb and dorp I passed through in SA recently has at least one road where the telltale circles and wire etc of burnt tyres were evident. Oh well.

On the plus side, each new batch of youths are less and less likely to take your job.

Why is this almost every time the go to thing to do is burn stuff, hell when I was growing up it never crossed my mind to set something alight as you respect other peoples property.

It's militant culturalism inspired by revolutionary teaching. My wife had to stop a young woman who should never have had the job anyway from setting her desk alight when she had a disagreement with her boss.

Believing your own prejudices is a very easy thing to do.
