Yeah masks did ****all mate

And no that's not hindsight
This has been studied and recommended even before Covid :

2009 :

"Results of our study have global relevance to respiratory disease control planning, especially with regard to home care. During an influenza pandemic, supplies of antiviral drugs may be limited, and there will be unavoidable delays in the production of a matched pandemic vaccine (31). For new or emerging respiratory virus infections, no pharmaceutical interventions may be available. Even with seasonal influenza, widespread oseltamivir resistance in influenza virus A (H1N1) strains have recently been reported (32). Masks may therefore play an important role in reducing transmission."

And 2010 after H1N1 :

"Thanks to the findings of Aiello et al [1], recommendation of the use of face masks, combined with a continued emphasis on hand hygiene for preventing ILI in crowded community settings, is reasonable and based on scientific data"

Then plenty done during Covid :

As the influenza pandemic swept across the United States in 1918 and 1919, masks took a role in political and cultural wars.

Sounds familiar

Actually it doesn't matter. Cannot copy from Google drive, but check out the result of quasi study of masking in hospital setting.

Did you read the press release you posted? It refers to the less infectious Omicron variant only. And do you understand what nosocomial means? That gives your lie to your claim that the study was on the public.

These guys disagree. Suggest you argue with them and put your medical credentials behind your name for us to see:

Five AMA members took time to discuss what they wish people knew about mask wearing to help clear up any misinformation. Yes, it means that the masks were so useless that they did not even work in the controlled hospital setting.

That gives your lie to your claim that the study was on the public.
What lie???? What public???

No, it means masks were found less effective in a hospital setting for the less infectious Omicron variant only. You really shouldn't exaggerate. It destroys your credibility.
