Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

Many people have already forgot about this, and I don't think they hype is there anymore. They would be lucky if they can get proper sales selling it for $40, but who knows, it might surprise all of us.

I don't see them dropping the price. The game was listed at $59. It was an expensive title back when it went on pre-order. They will have to restructure the incentives. They had three editions? I can't remember. Price parity and gaming pricing have changed a lot since then, too.

What can be said is that Paradox went on to make a bigger game than they initially planned. For better or worse.

I only hope that it isn't a bit dated... This will be The Chinese Room's biggest game. From the playtesting, this is Dishonored, Vampire Edition.

But yeah, there is like no hype, only critique. It is not long until October.

Please don't let this suck. Please don't let this suck. Please don't let this suck.

The Masquerade is among the greatest video games ever.
Hampered by mainstream hardware of the time, it still managed to deliver an experience second to none for fans of the type. A game type I never knew I LOVED till i played it. Not your normal RPG, ARPG etc at the time.
Way ahead of it's time.

Bit dismayed the new outing seems to be trimmed to meet deadline/deliverables. Hope there is meaningful choices and outcomes at the least.

I am still stoked.

I don't think they trimmed IMHO. When they appointed The Chinese Room and started talking about another postponement, there were signs that Paradox didn't believe that the game was big enough. It did evolve.

At some point in this title's development hell, I think deadlines and deliverables became something unrealisable. I am curious how much more Paradox pumped into the title. By now they must be very much over budget.

Though it might not seem like it, Paradox Interactive is no small company; I think they were valued more than Ubi. They have also restructured much since this game was announced. It is possible that some things they cut were moved to this development. I won't know.

From what I am seeing is that they clearly want to break into adventure/RPG titles. A lot hinges on this game to not only be acceptable, but good. Will it be stellar? That is up to them.

Still have no hopes for this game
From what they showed about the game so far, I just do not get that feel that I got from the original Bloodlines. Original felt darker, more in line with what you would expect from a World of Darkness game. Sure, the original had its bad sides but damn did they manage to hit the atmosphere on the head with that one.

Also, no Malkavians? I wanted to RP a batshit crazy vampire again that talks in riddles and hears voices

They were a clan in the title that Hardsuit Labs were developing. Are they scratched? Maybe as a playable clan, but the Malks will be in the game. I think the clan didn't suit the game narrative storyline, and they weren't going to make any hard branches. Like CDPR did with Cyberpunk 2077, you have your paths, and that is it, it is subtle.

Who knows, perhaps Paradox will introduce them as a surprise, you know, a surprise DLC mechanic. An story branch game expansion is possible. Redeveloping cut content and all that /cough, Phantom Liberty.

It all depends on how well the game sells as it is already a money pit. We have seen games being redeemed.

More clans will probably be paid dlc

Yeah it's confirmed that there will be 2 dlc clans but we don't know which ones yet. I don't like it when they do DLC like this for a single player game

This is what was originally promised:

The Blood Moon edition also included an extra skin. It will be interesting to see what will change.

From what I can gather, the game was priced:

Standard Edition - $59
Unsanctioned Edition - $69
Blood Moon Edition - $89

I don't know about the DLC, but I do expect the game to go up by $10.
