Vaping Sales Grow at Slowest Rate in a Year as Illnesses Mount

E-cigarette sales in recent weeks grew by the slowest rate in more than a year and a half amid public health warnings over vaping, while cigarette sales declines eased slightly in the past month, according to industry data.

Sales of e-cigarettes grew by 25.5% in the four weeks ended Oct. 5 compared with the same period a year ago, Cowen analyst Vivien Azer wrote, citing data from Nielsen. It’s a significant slowdown from the monthly growth rates of more than 50% that the e-cigarette category has seen since at least August 2018.

It's going to a decade before we know the full impact that vaping has on the human body.

There's a concensus that it's better than smoking for most people. Taking into consideration that there's a very tiny percent of the population who actually get a health benefit from smoking due to the way their immune system reacts to stresses caused by smoking. It's not known if these people's bodies will react the same way to vaping.

What a load of unsubstantiated, fearmongering BS.

41 million people in the US vape...but this is what's thrown out there:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has warned against the dangers of vaping as the number of people afflicted by a mysterious “vape lung” condition continues to increase.

It has been reported that around 450 people are thought to be affected by this condition, with as many as five dying from it.

The CDC noted that it has not yet established a definitive cause for the lung affliction, although most cases involve products which use THC as well as nicotine.

People make their own vape mixes so they can get high...and fuk themselves up doing it.

0.001% of people that vape in the US are "afflicted" by this "mysterious condition"...

Pfft....

Wouldn't be surprised if big tobacco companies are behind this.

Remember how sugar lobbyists managed to influence research on heart disease in the 60s to divert attention away from themselves?

Oil, big pharma, sugar and tobacco lobbyists have been notoriously influential in the US.
